Good planner
By Amy on Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2021
I have tried both the softcover and hardcover versions of this planner, and I definitely prefer the sturdiness of the hardcover. I like the size of the XL planner, too - it gives me plenty of space to write, but it's not too big, either. I also like having the lined pages across from every week - I use those mostly for writing about things that struck me that week. I can see writing from the page verso and the next page through a page I'm currently looking at, and I only use pencil. It doesn't bother me very much, but I could see that being an issue for those who like to use dark, bold ink. For those of us who think of Sunday as the first day of the week, please be aware this planner uses Monday, instead. Not a big issue for me, personally, although I'd prefer a Sun-Sat format over Mon-Sun. My biggest wish for the weekly layouts would be to give Saturday and Sunday an equal amount of space as Monday-Friday. I don't really understand why so many planner companies short-change the weekends. Overall, this is close to being my perfect planner.

Borderline tissue paper thin pages = all writing showing through to the page on the other side.
By a girl who likes the dark on Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2021
Just received. Was, at first, very pleased - great color (red), has all I need and nothing more, etc. BUT. Upon making my first few notes, I was discovered that ink shows through and, in places, bleeds through to the back of the page. The indent of the writing can be seen and felt. I used my standard inkjoy gel pen, a pen I’ve never known to cause such an issue on any paper/document. It’s a quick dry, non-saturating ink - not like a marker. I wasn’t pressing down hard. I can’t imagine what kind of writing implement to turn to in order to prevent what is written from showing through. I imagine even a dull pencil would appear on the backside. Holding a page from this book, a word or image that comes to mind is tissue paper. Less than ideal. This is to be the record of my 2021? Moleskine has such a good reputation and sizable following, so I never expected to encounter an issue of such shoddy quality. I trusted in the quality of the brand (and accepted the higher price) and ordered. Since the paper is so thin that any writing shows through on the opposite or back side of the page, the date before or following will never be a clean slate. I need an agenda/calendar like this; I need this item now. Otherwise, I would absolutely return it. I may still return it. I paid $20. It’s a company that considers itself to be at the top of its market. Yet the pages/paper are less than dollar store spiral notebook quality. The pages *look* nice until you write in them. Writing in a “Daily Diary/Planner” is the whole point of this item. It is what it is made to be used for! I own journals with almost as many pages that still have thick quality paper. Made by other companies. If you can find a daily diary/planner that meets your needs and is made by a different company, try that one. Read the reviews too, to make sure you don’t run into a quality issue like this! No one wants to face a new page, a fresh new day, that looks like it’s already been written on. It’s not clean; it’s not inspiring. It just looks like a mess. Moleskine - why would you think you could pass off such low grade materials? For reals, I would like to know.
