I am impressed my this machine
By Mr. Jones on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2021
Update on review: after I purchased a new computer with an i9 processor and RTX 3070 the streaming is 100% no issues, flawless. I can play any game on full graphics from my living room while my pc hangs out in the office. I can remove the helmet and put it back on and still be in the game with no glitching. My old pc was the source of all my issues with this. If you get yourself one of these make sure you have a good pc to back it up. First off the pros: The machine as a stand alone is perfect. The games available are great for kids and adults, and there are suprisingly way more than I thought with better graphics than I expected. If you are looking for something that is business and play look no further. The machine as a streaming device for higher end games is great as well. Though rightfully titled as beta with my pc I am able to play creed, saints and sinners, google earth, rumble, rec room, and many other titles though I wish I could still play the windows ten version of minecraft like I could with oculus. The streaming is so much better than I thought it would be. I've even streamed skyrim and as far as picture quality goes I've no complaints. Sometimes my connection is bogged up with others streaming on it, but I can't fault the machine for that. It works and works consistently with very few bugs. Last pro, the bug report software is cool. When you have a problem you send the logs off and wait for the crew to help you out. Super simple. Cons for stand alone: no cons for stand alone, it works perfect for games and apps. I installed 512 gigs of extra memory but haven't even touched the original 32 Cons for streaming: if you are looking for something to play high end games on this can do some, but not all. Many games aren't guaranteed to work with streaming though they are getting better some just flat won't stream. When you want to take a break you might as well just end the game because once the headset comes off the stream gets interrupted and doesn't come back. When you are done with a game you have to close the steam vr client and shut the game down manually before you can change to another game. In some cases the audio is garbled. Right now I run a pretty good system I designed for the oculus back in 2017, but for some reason streaming audio is garbled so I have to use my headset for now. I haven't given this less stars for any of this because they state that this is in beta and honestly despite the bugs this idea is so cool and works so much better than I assumed it would. Cons for the Vive team feedback: takes forever to hear back. Last con, battery life is 3 hours max. But if you get yourself one of those battery backs for on the go charging you can increase the battery life to 12 hours. It fits in your pocket and plugs right in I use it and love it. Anyways to sum it all up I have high hopes for this thing. I hope to see the streaming get better, and I hope that support for this product isn't dumped for something new like oculus did with the rift. Last pro, no need for a social media account to play your games which is why I switched to Vive to begin with.

Terrible

So bad. I got it for phasmophobia and it's a buggy piece of junk. Don't buy this.
