I find the Self Clean Station a deal maker.
By mykecusa on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2025
I bought  the L60 RoboVac. I found it a better Robot vacuum than the IRobot 600 series I had been using for years. One "Expert" reviewer referred to it as the current best budget priced Robot Vacuum. As I read the review, the Self Clean Station (SES) feature caught my attention and I bought the L60 with the SES. I have not been disappointed. I smile as I watch the RoboVac map my apartment, then fill in vacuuming within the map. The RoboVac then returns to the SES and empties into the internal replaceable bag the contents were in the vacuum bin. Reviews have indicated 30 to 60 days before a new bag is needed to be replaced. I have a Yellow Labrador Retriever that sheds constantly. So far I have been very happy with how this L6 SES has cleaned up the dog fur, cut it up, and emptied it into the disposable bag. I will edit this review once I get a good idea of how long I can go before I have to change out the L60 SES bag. Design: I find functional and easy to access ... It makes sense to me. I have used this a week now. I have a Yellow Lab service dog. After a week, my IRobot 675 would be packed with his fur, and the brushes would be wound with multiple stands of dog fur. Today, I opened the L60SES and was pleasantly surprised. the dust bin was very much empty and the collection bag was about one quarter full. I am now expecting I will indeed be able to go a month without having to change the collection bag. Well done Eufy. UPDATE 15 days: After 15 times vacuuming the following pictures show the SES bag, the L60 roller, and the dust bin. I think, since I see the SES bag about half empty that I will get about a month with a SES . I like that. I can leave the vacuuming to Eufy for a month and only check periodically. My Labrador Retriever sheds a LOT, and it is nice to relax and let Eufy keep his fur under control.

Don’t understand the hype, this thing is really bad
By Aidan on Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025
2 months in and unfortunately passed the return window. I had a roomba prior so I’m comparing the issues I had with that vs this piece of junk which for some reason got great reviews. First off this thing gets lost so easily. I don’t know how many times it’s tried to go back to charge and I found it dead in the opposite corner of the room because it couldn’t find home. My house has a decent number of mirrors and I think that confuses this thing, you could tell by how it maps out spaces (checking the house map on the app). It’s so clueless that’s it’s mapping out reflections as part of the room. Never was a problem with the Roomba. So basically it’s consistently at low battery because half the time it’s getting lost in a room it’s cleaned 50 times before and dying. Mind you there is no clutter, the charge port is in a room with 2 desks and 2 chairs. Not to mention when it goes back to charge mid job because it’s always low battery, it completely forgets it was cleaning a room and gives up on a job. Useless. Second off this thing gets caught on everything. Better hope you live like a caveman and don’t have any chargers because it loves sucking in and destroying your wires. This was never a problem with my roomba. It’s because of how this is designed with its brush/spool. Not only that but if I have a cat toy on the ground (those who have pets know that toys are just going to end up in random places, this thing will suck in those toys and get stuck). Pretty ridiculous that a toy will get this thing caught, I shouldn’t have to do a 20 minute patrol to find little toys around the house for a vacuum that gets put to work three times a week. Again, this was never a problem with the roomba. It’s how this thing is designed. Next issue, the thread/hair cutting feature doesn’t even work. The spool just pushes it all into a corner so this feature pointless. Another issues is the lack of certain convenient features (keeping in mind these features exist with other similarly priced products). This vacuum + app can name rooms and clean areas, but I can’t ask Alexa to clean those spaces. I can only ask this thing via Alexa for it to clean the entire house. If you want a specific room you open the app to do so. Minor inconvenience sure, but it’s the same price as a roomba that can do those things. Last but not least and probably the most important part, the cleaning sucks. I had a fake Christmas tree that lost some of its pine needles when I was putting it away. Instead of just sweeping it I figured I’d use this opportunity to do a final test of how good the vacuum actually works. I’m not lying when I say I had to assign a clean zone over those fake pine needles three times before it finally picked them all up. It can’t do the added perks it advertises well at all so you’d think the least it can do is vacuum correctly. Wrong. I hoped it would get smarter over time like my roomba did and learn the space better but this thing is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed. I’m now past the return window after getting fooled by the other reviews and giving this thing a chance, and this thing is still as clueless as it was when it came out the box. Don’t listen to the other review hype, this thing is a total lemon. People either had early generation roombas that have since gotten much better or just never actually had a robo vacuum before, because I can’t for the life of me understand how so many people left a review saying this thing was the best purchase they've ever made. Ignorance is bliss, this isn’t great in any sense of the word. Don’t end up stuck with this thing like me where I now tell myself I’ll put up with this junk for an another year before I get a replacement. Look elsewhere.

Super Happy So Far - Such an Improvement Over Older Robo Vac!!!

So Far - Excellent. We've had robovacs since around 2011 and this is our first Eufy. I love how quiet it is and how it automatically adjusts the suction power to the surface. It mapped the rooms so nicely and I was able to set where it should NOT go. We have a lot of floor space, including laminate floors, berber carpet, area rugs and vinyl floors. It really performs well and gets right up to the edges, around chair legs and no crumbs missed anywhere. We have 6 in the household from 5 to 83 years old so there can be a lot of crumbs, bits, pet hair and scraps. We had no interest in a mopping function unit so this is exactly what I wanted. I have bare floors scheduled for every day and carpets every other day. The voice is loud enough to hear from other rooms when it's changing functions and I can control it with Alexa, which connected super easily. The app on my phone has every function I want and is easy to navigate. The self empty function isn't so crazy loud as some people say, maybe between the level of a normal vacuum and a shop vac? It did clog up in the empty port the very first go round due to excess pet hair - like a LOT of hair (we have a collie and a great pyraneese) because I wanted to see how it would collect all that - it hasn't had any issue afterwards because it's on a regular schedule and cleaning beautifully. It does a fine job navigating around any sort of items sitting out on the floor and hasn't eaten any socks yet, but we try to leave a clean path for it anyway. BTW - the prior model robo vacs we had were Neato and they were excellent at corners due to the flat front shape. This one is not too bad for a round shaped vac. All in all - I'm very happy and hoping it will last a good while. I may have to get a second unit for our family room (different level - dog hair there too!)

I own two other eufy vacuums. The L60 with bin was a great price and upgrade from Amazon. It cleans great! Here’s my one week review. We have four cats and it really digs the hair out of the carpet and off the hardwood floors. The hair cutter for the roller is working well. It’s no louder than other robot vacuums until it cleans itself at the bin (home base). The self cleaning into the bin works without issue. I do have two issues though. First is the lack of run time. After 56 minutes of normal run time and the L60 is at 5% battery life and must return for a recharge before completing the last room on the floor. Once charged, it does not pick up where it left off. Worse, because the floor map is not complete for that room, I have to start from scratch. The second item at is due are the spring-loaded charging arms/points in the base. They constantly get stuck pushed all the way into the base with each vacuum return. I have to manually pull them out and manually reset the vacuum onto the base for it to charge.
Absolutely love Spazz!

I just received my robovac this afternoon, and let me tell ya: I already absolutely love it. I have named him Spazz, since the first time using him, he went in all sorts of seemingly random directions and was completely aggressive with ANYthing in his way. I'm talking full - bore, ram into it and push it. Then, as I realized, he was simply mapping his parameters and once he learned them (which didn't take long) he just did his thing and went right back to the charging station and rested. Here is my feedback: 1. I had a little trouble with the app. I tried logging in several different times with several different passwords and I kept getting a very cryptic message, that wasn't even complete! Just a quick flash on my screen and I cannot for the life of me tell you HOW I ended up finally logging in. But I did and will never log out. Ever. Just in case. 2. It took me a few tries (before I came to the conclusion that it was my error not the machine) to get Spazz to connect to the app. Little did I know that since the power station (some like it hot) is positioned relatively close to the Internet router already, I did not need to find it, but simply press the start/home buttons at the same time to reset the wifi and then connect to the app via bluetooth. 3. I am assuming Bluetooth always needs to be on in order to control Spazz, but at night when my phone is charging I'll turn it off and turn it back on in the morning. Not sure I like the idea of always having Bluetooth running since it is a battery drainer. 4. I also am not a fan of allowing ANY thing to use my location, except GPS, but alas, if I want to control Spazz remotely (this unit did not come with a remote, btw) I am at the mercy of this requirement. I also have outdoor cameras by the same company, so they know my location already anyway I suppose. 5. I like the suction Spazz has: he even picked up a sock that my boyfriend lacksidasically left on the floor. Which caused a red flashing error and the voice on the charging port yelled at me saying to clean the roller brush. So I flipped Spazz over and lo and behold, there was a sock halfway in and halfway out of the roller brush. Pulled it out and good as new. So, suction is AMAZING. 6. Speaking of suction, he does a great job of getting up dog hair. I have 2 dogs, one with very thin hair and the other with a wiry undercoat and it is all gone within the cleaning time. 7. And touching on that aspect, it really doesn't take THAT long. Yes, it takes longer than I do BUT I also do not go in any kind of pattern like Spazz NOR do I go over the same area more than once. In essence, he is cleaning my floors better than I do and I'm kinda ticked about it. 8. The fact that I can control how much suction he has using the app is great. Even though he features a BoostIQ, changing the suction depending on the material, I still like that I can get a more thorough cleaning using MAX. Does it use more battery? Yes. Does it clean more? Perhaps. Does it make me FEEL like it's cleaning more? Absolutely. 9. The mapping accuracy is indeed, well, accurate. I moved him upstairs to do my two bedrooms and the hallway and at first he was like, 'uhhhh I haven't been here yet. What's going on? Where am I? Who are you?!' but then he settled down and mapped out the areas just fine and went along his merry way. 10. I have to de-snag him from cords every once in awhile and give him a little nudge transitioning from the downstairs hallway to the bathroom, but honestly once he learns his map, he avoids such obstacles and has even figured out how to get over the hump from the threshold in the bathroom. Basically lifts up and scales it like he's climbing Mt. Everest, which to him, may seem like it. 11. I like the fact that he empties himself and any hair caught on the brush is quickly razored away when he goes home. Yes it's a bit noisy but it's only for a minute and I'll take that over needing to manually pull hair out like I have to in my regular vacuum. Not getting my hands all gross is a huge plus. And it really doesn't seem like there is anything tangled in it anyway. I have long hair but I'm pretty adamant about getting it thrown away even though I know there's some strands about. 12. Spazz's functionality is top - notch. Nothing has gone wrong, other than the few things with the app connection and the wayward sock incident, as it is now known as. 13. The dogs do not seem to be bothered by him at all, just curious as to what this new thing is in their space and my male quickly dis-trusted Spazz to NOT suck up his favourite bone so he snaggled it up and went to another room. My female watched Spazz very intently, just in case he may actually have legs and feet and scurry away. Thankfully she did not try to bite him like she does with my regular vacuum! 14. I have a robot trash can (motion sensour) in my kitchen and Spazz knocked into it while mapping and I told him 'that is another robot. There better not be any interaction between the two of you and don't even think about communicating.' Only time will tell what transpires between them. If we don't turn up for awhile, do a wellness check. If there's a putrid odour, but the floors are clean and the garbage has been taken out, just know humanity has lost. For everyone complaining it is not immediately perfect right out the box: there IS a manual on line. Read it. Study it. Learn it. Embrace it. If you cannot find the time to actually READ something, watch a video since most people believe that because you watched a 3 minute video, you're automatically brilliant and know everything about it. It will never be perfect in any way, shape or form. Remember, computers are only as smart as the person using them. Take some time to get to know your machine and HAVE PATIENCE!!

Great Product, own 2. Capacity: We live on a farm and dirt is there anytime one of my family walks in the door. It does have to charge to complete the floors. It does carpet and tile.  Quality: I needed a tough machine for hay dust from the barn and dirt being dragged in from the fields. Occassionlly a dog wanders in when the family gets together. Picks whatever is on the floor even a sock once in awhile. Phone notifies me when that happens, I unclog and off it goes again.  Works well: The new filters and brushes are affordable. If I clean them weekly, they last a long time. Easy to change, easy to clean. Saves me time, love how clean it keeps my carpets and floors. Wifi connectivity: When something goes wrong, it alerts you. To clean the filter, it alerts you. Excellent for if it gets stuck, you can find it. Love it Navigation: Does well even when I move stuff

Not great for pets Pros: -automation options are nice -operation is generally pretty quiet -cheap on sale Cons: -Will get stuck a lot. Have cords under your bed? You’re going to have to fish the robot out from under. Dog toys? It’ll chew on ‘em. Also has a taste for carpet tassels. You will not run this vacuum without picking everything off the floor. -vacuum strength is subpar. Sometimes we’d decide to manually vacuum because the robot wouldn’t get all of the hair -app performance is mediocre. Sometimes your map will disappear and you have to dig through menus to find it again. Room designation feels wonky. A lot of the features are nice but basic and unpolished. -base station is LOUD when emptying. You probably won’t schedule overnight cleaning. -seemingly small battery. We don’t have a massive house but this robot can get through maybe two rooms before it pauses to re-charge. I’d recommend looking at reviews on youtube for comparable models. If you have hardwood, it may be worth saving up for a unit with mopping functions.

L60 version of Eury robotic vacuum with self-empty home base worked beautifully in our home. The hallway, bedroom and rec room of our lower level are completely carpeted (839 Sq Ft), so the L60 without mop features fit the needs. Quick setup meant connecting the approach ramp of the home base, peeling the plastic protection stickers, and plugging the base into a wall outlet. Once placed upon the home base, the vacuum took off attempting to map the area. Initially, the area was too large for the charge in the battery. The vacuum returned to the home base and re-charged. Subsequent, vacuuming session mapped out the entire area perfectly The app is informative and allows you to tell the vacuum to "go home" when unwanted vacuuming sessions occur. The app confirms the mapping and navigation of the vacuum, but with just a look at the carpet and we can see where the vacuum has been. The area covered is very thorough and appears clean. I have no idea how much dirt is being collected as the dirt is collected in a bag within the home base. I will know more after I change the bag at 30 days of use. The app is designed to remind me when the bag needs to be changed. Scheduling the vacuuming session on the app is very intuitive. CONCLUSION - Very satisfied initially with the performance, price and build quality. I can not speak about endurance yet. I will modify this review if problems occur. March 2025 UPDATE - We are more than satisfied with this purchase. The weekly vacuuming of the 839 square feet occurs Sunday night at 11:00. We do not sleep on that floor, so we are sleepy is not disturbed. It takes an 60 minutes to complete the vacuuming session. The debris collection bag had to be replaced once and it was a easy, simple job. The vacuuming does not produce significant noise, but the vacuum discharge of debris and hair cutting function is noisier than standard vacuuming. The battery is sufficient to power the vacuum for the full 60 minutes required to vacuum the area. The enemy of this vacuum are wires. Wires on the floor will mess things up. 15 minutes of effort organizing your wires and cables will save you many, many hours of vacuuming. It is well worth the effort of getting your wires and cables organized. June 2025

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication"-Leonardo Devinci [Just like EUFY] It is now the nearly the end of 2020 and still going STRONG, SMART. SLEEK-- no need to replace battery, yet especially with the rare on/off switch on the bottom side. Also, with the tempered glass top still no scratches (all pictures updated). Looks and performs as amazing as the day it arrived for a solid 100 minutes! My favorite robotic vacuum of all time Highly recommended! ★★★★ Quality ★★★★ Price ★★★★ Shipping ★★★★ Description ★★★★ Smart Features ★★★★ Durability/Best in the industry ★★★★ Home Docking/Recharging ★★★★ Cleaning&Sensors EXCELLENT ★★★★ Longevity (a forever robotic vacuum) ★★★★ Gets under everything! Dust Bunny 🐰 Free Hone!. Original Review To set your expectation consider yourself LUCKY to have found this Eufy even though it is not APP operated, YET still out preforms all competition and has built on remote holder for scheduling with excellent client support to help replace also just press button for maximum cleaning on unit. Eufy is made by Anker ( approved) an incredible technology company that offer such inexpensive and extraordinary innovative power that you can find their products on the  Apple site and all of my experiences have been nothing, but amazing with Anker so when I realized Eufy was an Anker product I knew I scored big time. IF I had only known what I do now “SIMPLER and SLIMMER is ALWAYS BETTER” after 7 ULTRA SMART and FRUSTRATING Robotic Vacuums which only makes me appreciate this Eufy even more. Firstly... Could've saved a fortune! Something you have to learn the hard way. Save this link if you think otherwise because you WILL BE BACK. THE ‘Eufy’ EXPERIENCE: • Add to your Cart and Stalk I randomly found for $149 on lightening deal ⚡️and would’ve bought 2 white (hard to find) if I’d known it’d be this perfect (will update— always do if there any surprises and adjust Star Rating/Review). • Arrives quickly and I was certain it’d be another return and so far it has been the best out of 7 Robotic Vacuums in 3 Years thus far. • The 1st charge (extremely important to NOT turn-on without fully charging) is unbelievably FAST for a Robotic Vacuum. I actually received it before heading to the airport and could not believe I was able to test it fully changed before I was out the door in a rush! • I really appreciate that this is a FOREVER vacuum, unlike competitors Eufy by Anker this is the perfect option you can keep forever because they offer a replacement battery for $22 PRIME and an ON/OFF switch underneath I have never seen ever (to conserve battery life). I much rather pay $22 PRIME than be FORCED to buy a whole new vacuum which is extremely common in the robotic vacuum industry. Electronic products are made this way and die around the end of the warranty IF lucky and not 3 months (I've been through this 3 times) and force you to buy an entire new unit when you just pop a new battery in. Have fun with that if you skip. You will be back! • The batter offer replacement is way better than spending another $500 on avg. and it is designed in a way you just pop to in. So crazy and wasteful the robotic vacuum industry can is. Super impressed. • Eufy runs for 100 minutes of cleaning time when the Ultra Smart Vac’s need a full 12-24 hour charge before a test/cleaning and an industry standard of 30-40 minutes of cleaning time. • Eufy is THE ONLY ROBOTIC VACUUM TO ALWAYS FIND ITS WAY HOME TO DOCK AND RECHARGE— EVERY SINGLE TIME! Mind blown! I've only had one of many vacuums actually find it's way back and dock a total of 3 times. They ALWAYS claim it goes to it's Home/Charging Dock, yet never do! I simply cannot believe it! • It has a clever On/Off underneath which will help conserve your vacuums longevity if you do so choose. Something I have never seen and would’ve not appreciated until now after all the expensive duds. • In the video it sounds loud, yet not at all as loud as my other’s. It sounds like a blade less Dyson Fan if you are familiar. i.e Smooth Air Blowing • The accessories like extra filter, sweepers (the highest quality I have ever seen as they tend to arrive bent), comb with cutting tool (should be used everyday you run it and is extremely common with all Vacuums as of yet), etc. • Easy manuals no weird or bad grammar to scare you off that is all too common now. • The sensor is as common as all it will bump things just like a very expensive Vac and is very alert to People and Animals. (Updated has better sensory than any of my other 7 adventures, yeah still bumps but now notice not nearly as much as all other brands). • I am so used to Vacuums never ever finding their way “Home”, so why set a cleaning schedule. Pointless. Eufy you can confidently. • The simplest way to ensure it always finds its way home is to make sure all cables/wires are not on the floor which is common knowledge to Robotic Vacuum owners. No, it won’t destroy cables it will simply shut off and need to be manually docked otherwise your set for a cleaning schedule. • Far too many Smart Vacuums are just too thick to clean under platform beds and furniture and if they cannot fit under I am just not interested. Why have one if it’s not going to do “Spring Cleaning” everyday and keep your home fresh, dust mite and dust bunny 🐰 free? It’s by far one of the most desired features speaking for myself. • My most preferred Vacuum’s have been By Eco Vac’s DeeBot Pro’s (owned 3) most are slim enough to get under most everything and they mop (I don’t like my area rugs mopped so, only tired that once) they have several issues, but have been the Top for me since Eufy which I highly prefer to my Eco Vac M83 PRO that I will be giving away if Eufy keeps up being superior. • Area Rugs... Eufy is highly intelligent when it comes to area rugs from thick to thin (also carpet). My once preferred Vac was okay, but would always have a the toughest time on thin rugs by flipping them and dragging them, also trying to climb her high sheep pelts and getting stuck. Eufy is super smart with its sensor to stay away from fluffy pelts (those are dry clean and sheep pelt brush) AND thin and high pile rugs Eufy has ZERO ISSUE when cleaning. Just AMAZING. • Also, excellent for finding a diamond earring you dropped etc., yes, I absolutely use it to FIND Small Impossible things without damaging! • I feel this covers all the major bases and is an excellent Vacuum I have waited several years for. Simple, slim, intelligent, and still cannot believe it runs over an hour and always always finds its way home to reboot and APPS have no become way overrated and a pain in the butt! Eufy Compared To Ultra Smart $$$$ Vacs: • I have owned 7 Smart Robotic Vacuums; the highest priced being the “Ultra Smart” Neato (returned after nearly a month of nonsense) with Home Mapping Technology at $1K. Sorry, the bigger, thicker, wider, and SMARTER it claims to be in my experience the more dumb it is. It becomes more of a chore meaning you have to reset the map every single time you move something and they are so thick they can cannot get all the dust and debris under furniture like Eufy does effortlessly. • Eufy cleans for 100 mins & always and I mean always finds its way home (something I was always promised, but they never returned even when commanded) so you can truly set a cleaning schedule! • While most all Smart Vac’s claim to dock and charge on their yet ALWAYS alert you over and over that they are stuck or have to be searched for with app, yet, Eufy is always obedient and doesn’t even need that function!I have only seen Eco Vacs find its way home 2x in 3 years now after 3 models (of that brand), Neato never, Dyson Eye never ever again! • It is proven that Vacuums that run in straight carpet lines are less efficient at cleaning. Hard to believe, but random has proven to out clean the $1,000 USD Plus Vacs. • If I had known it’d always do a no nonsense cleaning without me having to follow it I would’ve withdrew doubt and ordered 2 at $143. • Eufy keeps it Simple, Sleek, Very Slim (gets under virtually EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you can imagine compared to Neato and other very high priced Robo Vacuums that cannot even get under a platform bed and other low profile furniture meaning dust will continue to pile up). One Con (maybe I missed it) no phone app to control while away. If so DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE. I may be wrong. I am writing a review after a 3 day trip that I set a cleaning schedule to VERY IMPRESSIVELY FIND EUFY Nearly FULL BIN Scheduled to clean once a day while away FOR 3 DAYS (house is always clean) and sitting at its docking station. An Easy 5-Stars Buy Eufy and forget the hype over these Ultra “Dumb” expensive Vacs that do Nothing, but turn you into a Vacuum Babysitter! I would seriously have to follow a $400-1k vacuum around. Yes, this is a huge deal to me after never having this experience with purchasing so many Ultra Smart crazy expensive vacuums. If you are sick of babysitting your smart cleaning devices this simple, slim, chic vacuum is the Answer! Update August 15th 2019 WOW this would be 10 stars if the option was available! The sensory oddly seems to have improved. Has now problem cleaning BIG messes. Eufy has a crazy “hop” and still intelligent enough to avoid my sheep rugs that insanely fluffy and vacuuming is forbidden for care. Perfect. It does not flip, move around very thin rugs, or get stuck under them a common issue with super expensive smart Robo Vacuums! It continues to impress! I pick this Eufy over all of my ultra Smart experiences. I could careless about apps! The remote is great and if lost it automatically turns on with a press to it’s Mac suction and gets the job done better than iRobot, Neato, Dyson Eye, several ECOVACS Pro’s, etc.. Save your money, time, and hassle of the Smart (dumb) options. I no longer have to follow an over-priced Robo around, get alerts it’s stuck, haven’t had to use a smart beeping tracker to track it down. It buy far has the best built-in features to schedule and forget. The only TRUE robotic vacuum you do not have to even think about turn on or schedule and forget about. The only thing it’s missing is to dump itself out! Mind blown! Finally, a Robo Vac that does exactly what you’d expect. Forget the hype or when your over all the overpriced Vac’s you WILL return or just die on you save this! I have spent weeks researching robotic vacuums. After comparing and contrasting different models from big-name brands like iRobot, iLife, Eufy, etc, I figured this would be a good budget vacuum. I bought this a few weeks ago and have been using it. Here are my thoughts. Build/Physique: This is a very sturdy unit. It has the classic round shape other robotic vacuums have. It weighs a few pounds but isn't too heavy. It's big enough where it can suck up a good amount of dirt, but not so big where it can't get underneath things like tables, but chairs can be a bit of a different story. Setup: Setup is easy. I just followed the instructions and put everything together as described/shown. Controls: What’s nice about this vacuum is that you can control it with a physical remote (that comes with it) or the Eufy app on your smartphone. The app has slightly more functionality than the remote, but it’s trivial depending on your needs (see below). I don't personally need the app, but I can see why it would be convenient. Some folks may want to run the vacuum while they're away from their house. Maintenance: Remember, the only robotic part about the vacuum is its ability to scour your house and suck up dirt and muck. It is not a self-maintaining machine. That being said, emptying the dustbin is simple -- you just press a button, release the bin, unfold it, and dump it out. The filter is also easy to pop in and out. If I'm not mistaken, there are one or two filters that are washable, along with some disposable ones. Cleaning the roller brush and the side brushes is also very easy, and there are extra side brushes that come with the unit. If you need more, you can order individual parts or a kit that (I believe) 8 side brushes, one or two roller brushes, and some filters (sorry, I don't know the quantities). Performance: This is where the fun begins. If you're not familiar with how robotic vacuums operate, here's a quick breakdown -- models like this one and many of the lower-end machines just blindly roam around and pick up whatever they find. More expensive units have navigational systems that allow them to map your house and create a floor plan so it knows where it is, where it's been, and where it hasn't been. Both WILL vacuum well, but the higher-end vacuums perform more efficiently. This vacuum roams around blindly, and it can be very frustrating to watch it move sporadically around your house. I also own an iRobot Roomba 980 which does have the mapping capabilities, so it covers the same amount of space in far less time. All this being said, however, it does have great suction and picks up things very well, including dog hair. I have a medium-sized yellow lab that sheds profusely, and it manages to suck up the hair very well off of hardwood floors. It also manages low-pile carpets well, too. Don't get this vacuum (or any robotic vacuum for that matter) if you're planning on vacuuming deep carpets, especially if you're trying to get dog hair out. Make sure that you pick up loose wires or any obstructions on the floor. These vacuums need as little interference from objects as much as possible. If you do forget to pick up a wire off of the floor, the vacuum has a feature where if it accidentally sucks it up, it will recognize it is a wire and drop it after a few seconds and move on. My Roomba 980 doesn't do that (to my knowledge). In general, it does well with not getting itself stuck. I have a pretty large divider that separates my kitchen floor from my dining room floor (about 3/4 of an inch), and it manages to get over the hump easily. Another nifty feature the vacuum has is cliff detection, so if it approaches stairs, it will not fall down them and get damaged; however, there's a drawback to this. If the vacuum encounters carpeting that is dark, the it might think it's seeing black and not continue to clean that area, so it'll move away. Stray away from dark-colored carpets if you can. It may bump into things from time to time, but there won't be any scratches on the unit. It has a bumper on it that will receive the impact of any collisions it has with objects it finds. There are three suction power settings, escalating in power from 1 to 3. You can adjust with the remote and I would assume the app. It even beeps the number correlating to the suction power when you press the button, so 1 beep for suction power 1 (or the lowest setting), 2 beeps for suction power 2 (or the medium setting), etc. If something goes wrong, it will beep in patterns, and you can check what error message is being denoted. I also like this feature, and the beeps are pretty loud, too. The unit is fairly quiet. You can clearly hear when it's on, but it makes a fraction of the noise a regular vacuum makes. This would be good for people who work from home but want to run the vacuum. Other vacuums (including Eufy's 30C) has a feature known as boundary strips or virtual walls. These are devices, or magnetic strips in Eufy's case, that send out a signal that prevent the vacuum from crossing a certain point/line. If you didn't want the vacuum to enter a certain area of your living room, you'd just have to put down one of the strips/set one of the walls at that area to prevent it from entering that area. The 15C Max does NOT have this feature, which I personally enjoy and would prefer to have, but, like having a regular vacuum, you're going to have be tidier if you want the vacuum to run without any problems/hiccups. You can also schedule the vacuum to run at certain times, which can only be done through the app. This feature is meant for folks I mentioned earlier that want to run the vacuum while they're not home. The app also shows you the current state of the vacuum: whether it's in standby mode (which just means it's docked and turned on), cleaning, and offline. Battery Life: At a full charge, I managed to get about an hour and a half (90 minutes) worth of a cleaning cycle out of it at the highest suction power. Eufy claims you can get up to 100 minutes at a full charge, so I'd say this checks out. The extremely convenient feature of this vacuum is that it is self-docking, which means if you press the power/home button on the remote or app (or if the unit's battery is low), it will stop cleaning and return to the charging base all on its own. It does behave strangely if the base isn't in a clear location/up against a strong-walled surface. So, make sure you don't have anything blocking the path for the vacuum to get to the base, and ensure that the base is firmly against a wall. This is easily one of my favorite things about this unit. The Bottom line: For $280, this vacuum rocks. You won't find a more powerful machine. It has some great features like painless setup, automatic self-docking charging, auditory suction power and error codes, cliff detection, compact size, a great battery life, powerful suction, flexible control devices (remote/app), easy maintenance, scheduling/automation, and cheap replacement components for order. There are certainly some drawbacks like darker carpets interfering with cliff detection, randomized roaming that doesn't make sense, and no boundary strips, but again, consider an iRobot Roomba 980 whose price is currently $900 as of 07/21/2019. It does have mapping and virtual boundaries, but you need to consider the significant price hike comparing these two particular models. Is it worth three times what this unit costs to pay for a machine that does have those features? This is in no way an insult to iRobot, but not everybody can just drop nearly a grand on most things, especially a vacuum. Take it from me who has a machine capable of efficient navigation. I'm glad I got both and was able to test them out. Watching the 15C Max after using the Roomba 980 is painful. But again, three times the price. The Eufy is still very powerful and picks up dirt/hair great. The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 15C Max performs very well and has plenty of awesome features with just a few drawbacks, and I truly believe you won't find a better robotic vacuum for under $300.
