Best smartwatch for sports
By Julien Julien on Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2025
Ive used this for over two years and it has been the best smart watch for sports. Used to use Apple Watch and switched and never looked back. It’s much lighter than the Apple Watch which makes a huge difference. This was the biggest selling point for me.. Also the fact it does not need active lighting makes it much easier to see in the daytime (which is when you’re most often looking at it). At night you can always use the backlight. The battery is spectacular. I charge it at most once every 2-3 weeks. It’s extremely durable too. I gone over 200 runs with it.

Great watch overall, but awful process to get the correct one
By Gordon on Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2022
The two I ordered from Amazon were the European model (I live in the US) and didn’t have American maps. The only reason I found this out is because the first one stopped working after two weeks and I called Garmin (it eventually started working again… too long to get into in a review). They told me the one I got wasn’t meant to be sold on the American market. After the first watch, I explained the issue to Amazon but they didn’t have a way to check in advance so I risked a second attempt (bad idea). The third watch I got from Garmin directly didn’t pair with my phone, and eventually they sent me a replacement “recertified” watch. It was a pain to get to a working watch. So, I’d be cautious about ordering this from Amazon. With all that said… I love the watch. I did 0 research and bought it based on the recommendations from family. I’m mostly using it for running and also bought the heart rate chest strap (HRM Pro) which adjusts my heart rate zones. The watch basically runs my life now. It’s very addicting, but in a good way. I’ve mostly stopped drinking and have started eating better in order to get better sleep scores (it was shocking to me how much alcohol affected it), as well as exercising a lot more to get my stats up (VO2 max and other things). When I use it for lifting it seems to usually know what muscle groups I’m working out, though it isn’t perfect. Can other watches do these things? Probably… but so far I’m enjoying the improved life. I highly recommend a fitness watch generally speaking.
