Elegant and Sturdy Front Door Handle — Looks High-End Without the Price Tag
By ESS on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2025
This front door handle set totally exceeded my expectations. The exterior handle is long and sleek, with a push-button thumb latch that feels sturdy and works smoothly. It really adds a nice, finished look to the front of the house. What I love most is the inside handle — it’s simple and clean, and it actually matches the rest of my interior door handles, so everything feels cohesive. Installation was straightforward, and the whole set feels secure and solid in your hand. It looks and feels like something that costs a lot more than it actually did. Highly recommend if you want a modern but timeless look! This video is after a year of uses and it still looks new!

Good quality, but has some issues
By mommacantdance on Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2018
Good quality, but there were some things we really didn't like about it. There is no lock on the handle part so the only lock on the whole set is the deadbolt. That didn't feel particularly safe to us, as the lock we replaced had locks on both the handle and the deadbolt. It also locks to the left, AWAY from the door, which intuitively doesn't make sense. My old set had buttons on the side so you could quickly lock it as you left, but this one you have to stop and use the key to lock up your house. Also this color is dark enough that if you're trying to open your door at night even with the porch light you can't see the key hole in this style since it's flush and not raised at all - we were concerned we'd scratch the heck out of the lockset trying to find the keyhole. The lock also didn't turn smoothly. We switched to the Kwikset Hawthorne and we like it much, much better. It's not quite as modern but it locks to the right and has a raised key hole that you can actually see, so we're happy with it (still no lock on the knob though). The only thing we miss on the San Clemente set is the handle on the inside that it has, as the Hawthorne has a very basic knob. We'll be happy with the Hawthorne, but unfortunately we now have a pencil sized hole in our new $2500 door below the handle that will have to be filled in and painted. IDK why Kwikset can't make their lock sets with the same dimensions so they fit the same pattern without additional drilling! We do appreciate being able to match the keys on the door and the screen with this set, but the installer said not to try and rekey it ourselves ever, as others have broken the lock trying to do so without really knowing how. Guess we'll have to get that professionally done if we ever need to do it.
