After sleeping with this pillow for a couple weeks now, I'm rewriting my review.
By Gerald Garcia on Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020
I have been experiencing severe neck pain for a couple months, which is why I broke down and paid the big bucks for this pillow rather than waiting for Memorial Day or Labor Day when they generally have 2 for 1 sales on pillows. These sales are not on Amazon, only at through the official Tempur-Pedic siteI So I originally wrote a 2 star review for this pillow because it was going flat after only about 20 minutes and leaving my head basically flat on the mattress. However after sleeping on it for a couple weeks now I find I must rewrite my review. First the good. The pillow as I'm sure you know already is two outer layers of Down, and a very soft layer of Tempur material in the middle. When I first lay my head on it, I was like, OMG! Soo comfy! But only minutes later my head is almost flat on the bed, the down goes flat pretty quickly. But I've never owned a Down pillow before and I've come to realize this is common to pretty much all Down pillows, at least as far as I've read. Again, being my first Down type pillow I didn't realize you could squeeze and scrunch them up to mold to your head better, which after doing so I find the pillow can go much longer until you need to readjust it. And it stays comfy much longer when used this way. I am a side sleeper, so I've always slept with my arm under my pillow, which has always caused my arm to go numb during the night. But for some reason this pillow does not cause my arm to go numb, and I'm sleeping with my arm under it all night. It must be the Down is soft enough to prevent it I guess. All I know is I have no more painful pins & needle numbness for a couple weeks now. And my neck feels like it's getting better. I am finding this to be a very good pillow, however significantly overpriced! IMHO. There's not too much bad about this pillow, it was advertised as being approx. 7 inch loft, but mine turned out to be about 4 inches. I called Tempur-pedic Customer Support to ask if there was anything they could do about the lack of loft. I asked if I could get or purchase an additional piece of memory foam to add to it, but they just said to send it back to Amazon. Which I felt was pretty lame. When a customer pays this much for a pillow, you should at least get a little understanding from their Customer Service. This issue came up before I realized the pillow could be scrunched up to fix that issue. It would have been nice if the CS dept had told me that. But I found out about it myself from reading countless reviews. Lastly, everyone should know that on Labor Day Tempur-pedic was selling all their pillows for 2 for 1. Two pillows for $150 rather than the insane cost of $150 for a single pillow. I read from another reviewer that they do this on Memorial day as well. Probably other holiday too. So if you're on a budget like most of us, and you can wait till a holiday, you should. I wouldn't however expect these to go on sale at Christmas time, but you never know.
