Plantronics Gaming Headset RIG 800HS

Got it renewed and it worked flawless. No scratches nor blemishes. I like that there is no software needed, just plug and play. I'm using the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Headphone software and the surround sound is wonderful. Mic could use a boost but everyone can hear me well and clear. So loving the wireless, I'm able to pretty much to walk the house without a problem. I'm glad to have got these renewed instead of full price, they are like new without the high price. Judge for yourself, and don't listen to the negative reviews, if you want professional sound then spend professional money. I use them in video conferencing as well and don't have an issue. Oh yeah, they can be used with a computer, as noted, and works with PS4 and Xbox One.

Love the headset! I came from a PS Gold brand to this upgrade and let me say I couldn’t be happier and more impressed! The only thing I did not like is at 1st I attempted to raise my chat volume and lower in game volume but much to my dismay the volume control for chat/game audio did nothing! After a quick search I found that you have to install the headset with the included optical digital cable. Only problem is a PS4 Slim does not include this cable so you have to purchase a separate HDMI to optical digital splitter on amazon for like $20. All in all your still around $60 into a $150 headset so you can’t beat that!!! If you have a PS Pro no worries you can skip the $20 splitter. Also I teach on my PC sometimes and I was able to hook the headset up to my PC for crystal clear audio in and out and the box says nothing about using on a PC but it’s literally plug and play. Needed new headphone because my Sony Golds were trash so i ordered these based off a recommendation from a friend. When I first plugged them up, there was no sound coming out so I was a little pissed, but after messing with settings a little (turning "all audio to headphones" off then back on seemed to fix it), the sound came through and omg these sound amazing. Completely changed the way i play the game (might just be in my head lol), but i feel like since gunfire and game sounds so much better that I react better. Installing directions are incomplete though, in my opinion, as it doesn't tell you to go into pairing mode on the headset AND on the optical attachment, which might sound like "DUH", but when u plug that into the back of your PlayStation its kind of out of sight, out of mind that you have to pair both. Super comfortable too and have had no issues with people being able to hear me.

Purchased these renewed/refurbished in 03/2021. They arrived out the box looking brand new. The sound quality is amazing my customers were able to hear me well and the mic worked fine ,fast forward almost a year later and the mic has loud static. I guess from flipping the mic up and down repeatedly it shorts or weakens the wire for the mic. I love these headphones but rig has to perfect that design flaw cause the I’m not spending money every year for headphones. But the price point of $60 wasn’t bad at all, just wish the mic would of never went bad.

The headset looks nice and was in good condition. However, it did not power on and would not charge. The instructions state that a red LED shows when it is charging and it did none of that. What a bummer. You might want to pass on this one.

I use this headset 8 plus hours a day, 5 days a week. So comfortable I have left them on while on lunch break. Since I work from home only the dog saw me. The sound is so clear. Battery last a very long time. I will charge it for 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins during lunch every few days

I got this headset as a gift and it has worked perfectly on his PS4 and now on his PS5. The price was well worth the enjoyment given. The fact that it was re-manufactured made no difference because it looked and acted like new. I look at it this way, the bugs are worked out.

First, this review is for the "renewed" headset, so it's been refurbished by Amazon or whoever. Sound quality is excellent, pairing was easy, controls are intuitive, adjustability and comfort were just fine as well. Wore them for a few hours, experienced overly warm ears as I do with over the ear cans, despite whatever manufacturers say they do for airflow or cooling, it's always the same, but wasn't unexpected. No wired option, no Bluetooth option, just straight to the dongle and that's it. Not impressive for Plantronics top of the series product, but I guess it makes up for it in other areas if you only have one use case and don't need versatility. When I tried to use the mic, I got nothing. Mic adjustment test in PS4 settings had no sound. Checked all the settings, read some Reddit threads, no solution. Ended up plugging the dongle into my PC and did some testing, the mic only worked for about the first inch of travel out of the "up" position. Would not work at all in anything close to a useable location. Don't know if that speaks more to Plantronics quality, or Amazon's "renewal" process, but I requested a refund less than 6 hours after having them out of the box.

It's really good only problems I had was setting it up and the only really thing I have a problem with is that you can use one of the nobs to adjust party chat and it never seems to be just right its eather one is too quiet or one is to loud or when your just trying to do something your self you need to Fidel with it, and the mic can pick up every thing

I had noticed it was not charging like normal and today it was just dead. will not charge not do anything.. It was a fantastic headset while it worked. was dead today June 1 2021. This was the replacement of the first doa headset I had purchased.. I guess around 7 months is not too bad.. However my first Rig headset I purchased is still going strong years later.
