Easy installation / setup and works flawlessly
By Peter Gary Nush Jr. on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2025
I don't understand why Chamberlain / LiftMaster / etc. hates their customers, but removing HomeKit compatibility from their garage door openers is so frustrating. Luckily the Meross solutions solves the problem perfectly. Setup & installation was easy -- and their support was fast & helpful when I had questions. It turns out I needed an adaptor for my specific opener, and they sent it out immediately. The person who helped me was kind & patient as I tried to explain my question as best I could, and quickly figured out what I needed. Installation & setup took all of a few minutes, including placing the open/closed sensor, and it... just works! It shows up in my Home app, it responds to Siri, it shows up in CarPlay, and it works with Scenes & Automations. Basically, I don't even have to think about it anymore - everything just works. The included cables were more than long enough for my needs, and gave me lots of options for installation. This was a nice touch, given how vastly different the various garage doors I've had over the years. They also included lots of screws & double-stick mounting tape, making it easy to keep everything looking tidy and neat, no matter how I needed to mount things. Really thoughtful.

Sensors are cheap, and nothing included to mount them to your garage door
By ScottinSoCal on Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2025
The control unit was a breeze to setup and install on my garage door opener. The sensors they included - so the control unit knows whether the garage door is open or closed - were bad out of the box and showed the garage door was always open. They also didn't include anything to mount the sensors on the door. I was worried about their notes on the wifi, because my house has a mesh system, but it found the signal without a problem and hasn't had a glitch. I contacted meross about the sensors, we exchanged a couple of e-mails for diagnostics to verify it really was the problem, and then they went silent. A few days later I finally got another email, saying they'd replace the sensors as long as I could give them a list of stuff to show that I'd really just bought it, and wasn't trying to scam them out of a new set of sensors. I mean, these are just basic magnetic reed switches, the kind cheap alarm systems use on windows. I'd be surprised if their cost on the sensors and wiring cost them more than $2. So, no. Not jumping through those hoops for such a small reward. Instead I found a more rugged one, designed for garage doors. All that matters is that the circuit is closed when the garage door is closed, and open when the garage door is open. The new reed switch connected right up, I verified it was working with an ohmmeter, and plugged it in to the meross. Perfect! Now I have a sensor I can drive my car over, without worrying about it, and the control unit knows when the garage door is open and closed. And, bonus, my manual garage door switch still works, so I can open and close it when I walk into the garage from the house.
