Perfect replacement for bottom-mounted roller slides
By yetanother on Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2020
My mirror cabinet drawers (16 inches depth) are pretty heavy but came installed with bottom-mounted drawer slides that are flimsy and make it harder to open/close the drawers when filled up with stuff. Eventually, these slides bent permanently, and it was dangerous to operate a couple of drawers that ended up in a precarious position. I found these 14 inches ball bearing drawer slides on Amazon. Not being a handy person in general, I was hesitant but decided to purchase two sets to replace couple of ill-positioned drawers in the cabinet. The instructions and illustrations are pretty clear. The confusing parts that were not made apparent by the manual: 1. How do I horizontally position the slides on the drawers? It may be obvious to others, and I finally realized that the slides must be flush with the back of the drawer's front cover. 2. There are multiple screw holes on the slides, so which ones should I choose? I decided to choose the smallest holes. There were a few holes that were not necessarily smaller. For holes that were rectangular shaped with semi-circular ends, I chose the holes with the vertically longer side, and positioned the screw on the top part of the hole. Again, this might be obvious to some, but definitely not to me. It took me a full 3 hours to measure, draw guide lines and line up everything appropriately. Finally, I was able to insert the drawers using the new drawer slides and the result was nothing short of amazing. With the same exact amount of stuff in the drawer, these slides allow for extremely smooth operation of the drawers. It feels so much more secure

Functional, if you are careful
By SoMECustomer on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2020
Pros: dimensioned well, so installation planning is easy; once installed, seem to work well Cons: bearing plate in middle slide piece doesn't mate well with drawer side pieces; screws included do not fit holes very well, leaving screw head proud (does not catch on the slides though); likely not a good choice if you need to take the drawer out on a regular basis. I purchased a five pack for drawers in a table saw cabinet I'm building. The slides installed easy enough; the dimensions were spot on making cutting the drawer pieces easy. The first drawer slid in easily enough the first time. The second time I had to install the drawer, however, it was a different story. Somehow the drawer side slide caught the edge of the ball bearing holders in the case side piece, bending the metal upward. I pulled the drawer back out and tried to readjust the metal piece down. The second time through the same thing happened on the other side. I moved onto a different smaller drawer, thinking perhaps it was more of my fault. After pulling this drawer out to finish reattaching the drawer slide, the same thing happened trying to put it in. This time, I recognized the problem and investigated. The inner metal plate which holds the ball-bearings needs to be pulled fully to the front. The drawer slide then carefully needs to be slid into this frame. What had happened was the drawer slide had caught the ball bearing plate and pushed it back to the back of the slide. Pushing the drawer back to engage the latches forced the drawer slide under the frame, bending the bearing plate in the process. Once I figured this out, installing this drawer and the next went fairly smoothly. It required some assistance from my wife to hold the drawer while I lined up the slide pieces. Since I don't foresee taking these drawers out on a regular basis, they should be fine. They work smoothly and quietly with a positive lock. I've used other slides before and never had this problem. Not sure if I got a bad batch or if it's the design. Despite working well once installed, I probably would not get these again either way.
