Awesome Shaver!
By Ta2Guy on Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2020
I am an old bearded guy with who still has a pretty full head of coarse hair. I have been shaving my scalp for over 11 years and am of the opinion that most men shave the wrong part of their head hair, that is they shave their beard and let their scalp hair grow! I love a beard and I also love tattoos. I shaved my scalp so I could tattoo it! I was a long-term blade shaver, using cartridges and more recently tried DE blades because I began having problems with some bad pores on my scalp, most always in the same places, that became irritated and would never heal because of frequent shaving. But I was not willing to quit being Bald By Choice. I tried practically every type of blade and shaver I could find but nothing made much of a difference. I had gotten the best shaves from DE blades but the nicks and irritation were the worst. It took quite a while to shave with it, but I got some relief from using a Braun 790cc (ONLY $200 on Amazon!) double head foil shaver, but it took awhile to get what looked (but did not feel) like a good shave. I wore out two heads on the Braun and was about to get another replacement head (ONLY $35 ouch! on Amazon) when a fellow BBC friend suggested a Skull Shaver (ONLY $200 ouch! on Amazon!). I bought the Skull Shaver and found that it removed my scalp hair down to very short stubble (as good as I could get) in about 10-15 minutes, but I was not happy with the remaining stubble because I like a really slick scalp. So I continued to use the Braun to clean up the stubble after using the Skull Shaver and still ended up with a raspy but somewhat passable result. Still not really happy, however, I looked around on youtube at shaving videos and saw a lot of barbers using double head foil shavers which were much less expensive than my Braun. The various models were priced at $13 to $300+ on Amazon. I mulled them over and watched more youtubes until I settled on the Andis Profoil Lithium Plus Titanium Foil Shaver 17200 ($66, a DEAL IMHO, on Amazon). I didn't get a replacement head for it ($15 on Amazon) because I was determined to send it back unless I was thrilled with it. SO I still have it (3 days) and have used it every day since I got it and I am absolutely thrilled with it! I get a shave that is closer than I ever got with any 3 to 5 blade cartridge razors or with BE razors. I get it quickly, with less mess, ZERO bumps and lacerations, and can have a great shave in less than ten minutes. The shaving process is pleasant and the result so good that I have been shaving every day whether I plan to go out or not just because I love a slick head! I took the picture today and posted it as proof of the facts stated herein! I paid for my shaver, got nothing for this review, and did it because I love this shaver and depend on what I always hope are honest reviews of products when I am shopping on Amazon. I have only two things to say that are less than favorable, and they tend to apply to any shaver other than sharp steel on skin: This Andis shaver works better on my round, hard head than it does on my face. And it is difficult to get a good straight line against a beard because of the design of the shaver heads. So I clean up around my beard with a double edge Wilkinson blade in a Parker DE razor. It only takes a minute and feels great. I don't know how this Andis will last, but it absolutely does what I was looking for. I don't have to run it long and it doesn't get even warm, so I don't expect it to fail quickly. It has a one year warranty. It claims 80 minutes of battery time, but I didn't check that. So I recommend that you get one of these if you need an electric shaver and that in any event you get a tattoo. So far I am happier with them than I have been with any other shaver or body decoration I have ever tried!

Good Shaver but....

Works great but foils do not last long. They wear out quick.
