These cameras are a heaven sent for us

This is my 4th Amcrest camera. My 1st camera is getting close to 2 years old and still going strong. Basic functions and the phone app are pretty much self explanatory. I personally have had trouble working out things like motion detection and recording schedules. Usually I just call customer service to straighten it all out (which takes about 10 or so minutes and then you usually are on your way). With my new camera I decided to play around with the app and the online functions some more. After doing some reading (yes... I actually read the online user manual. Who would have thought! Right?) I was able to set up my motion detection and schedules. I have used them to monitor my young kids from another room or to keep an eye on my house while I'm away. It's even helped me solve a few mysteries as to what my dog is up to in the middle of the night or while I'm at work... those video's are keepers for sure. They do their job! I've been incredibly happy with these cameras and I love that I'm not forced to save video's to a cloud (although it is an option). I just insert a 64GB chip in each camera and that has worked out well so far for me. I have a few friends who are such fans that they have even purchased these for their homes as well. The 2-way audio is very helpful. I prefer not to put camera's in bedrooms, but I do have one outside my kids rooms so that I can make sure they are up and going in the morning. If someone decides to sleep in I just use the 2-way audio to get them moving. I also have a camera I keep loose so that I can move it wherever I need it. Currently it is placed in a window facing outside (I had to turn the night vision off since it just reflects in the window) so that I can monitor my backyard for a project we're working on. I'm hoping I can use the recordings to make some kind of time lapse video of our progress! These cameras are a heaven sent for us. Both fun and functional. *I purchased my first 3 cameras and 4th camera was provided by Amcrest for testing and an honest review. I would not hesitate to buy more cameras in the future from Amcrest and I'm liking the idea of a few outdoor cameras.

Basic PTZ camera, easy install, NO two-way audio

This is a basic PTZ camera. The controls on the app for PTZ are a little odd as they are outside the edges of the frame and come in and come out when you touch the screen on your phone. So if you want to Pan or Tilt more than once you have to press, see the control, then press to pan or tilt, then controls disappear so you have to do this again and again when panning or tilting more than two clicks. Audio is clunky, it does not really clean up the noise and there is no two-way option. I can hear on my app from the mic on the camera but I can not speak or output voice from my app to the camera. It is an easy to install camera with cloud support. The peripheral options are pretty good but some of the key features are missing. Price for value is normal but the marketing and features push you to utilize the cloud site for everything you do. I hope they fix the two way audio option with a simple FW upgrade otherwise my purchase would have been a waste.
