Great Performance and Quality for the Money
By Rob on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2020
This is a limited addition according to pioneers website. To me, it replaces the GM-D8604 which pioneer still sells for more money, currently. This one has a bass boost controller where the D8604 does not. Besides that, they are the exact same amplifier. If that is in fact true, these amplifiers are known for having problems with one channel dying for no apparent reasons. That is why I was in the market for another one. So if this random flaw still exist and the amps are the same, then we take a chance of losing a channel like I did. But for full disclosure, my amplifier lasted almost 4 years before the channel died. And these amps under rate and advertise what they actually put out. These amps have been tested by many labs and were found to pump out a lot more than its advertised rating. They are truly amazing amps. So I got another one.

About 5 days outside of the return window, the amplifier went into "protect" mode and it won't reset. As expected, Amazon tech help knew nothing, been on hold with Pioneer support approaching an hour now without speaking with a human. Fear the warranty process. I suspect I'll be shipping it to them and hoping to get it fixed and returned by 2023 if I'm lucky. It's the Pandemic's fault. It's always the Pandemic's fault. I'd like to give up on the amp and go in another direction, but I'm into it for almost $200. Can't afford to trash it. So I sit and wait... And have no music in the car for God knows how long...

Put this in a hybrid Avalon in tri-mode. Powers 2-2 way infinity reference 6x9s and 1-10 inch sub. Tried a different brand class D amp before this one and it had issues at high volumes and would cut out in protect mode. Put this amp in and it powers right through to max volume. Plenty of power for all speakers and the sub. It does however suffer with distortion at high levels with the 6X9s and I have to keep the gain turned very low. Other than that it does a great job in the hybrid.
Great buy with low impedance capability.

Great amp so far! Have it running a pair of 6.5 kicker coaxials (cs series) and 3 and 4 channels bridged to a dual 4 ohm fosgate 12" sub. Amp produces great sound, no noise, and even has an included sub volume control. Great product!
First one was so good Im going back for a second

Got the first on in July 2020. Installed in my Scion Xb powering Alpine Type R 65 components in front and matching coax in back. Got a matching 8?9701 the 1200w mono powering a sundown SA10 in a customer fiberglass box I made. I had that all installed in that car almost 3 years then gave it to my kid. She's had it for almost 2 years now and its all still working like the day I put it all in. I think the issue most people are having with this amp is they do not know how to set a gain correctly and they are killing amps. Gain is not a volume knob. Mount it well, get a scope, set it right the first time then never touch it ever again and your $150 cheapo little power house amp will last you years as well.

There's no doubt about it, this amp is a tremendous value for what you pay for it on Amazon, the other big brand Japanese amps can't compete for the price. You have power, cool operation, 2 ohm bridged and 1 ohm stereo loads, a decent clipping feature to set gains, and a free bass knob. Sound quality is not as crystal clear compared to the other 2 brands but when it is running 2 ohm stereo and 4 ohms bridged at full load its luke warm in comparison to the amp it replaced. Cons: for me the finish on mine was not even all the way around and scratched easily to the bare metal, (use painters tape when mounting it) the angled terminals are junk (amazed they didn't strip at the angle I was trying to feed the wires) In the end nothing as powerful would fit under the seat of my 2019 Crosstrek as this, and I'm not looking to pull my seat and get a replacement back in.
Awesome!

Whort every cent. I running 1 of 5x7 (6x8) Pionner D series on each channel and 1 tweeter TS-110 in parallel (2 ohms each) at normal gain adjust at F150 single cabin. The sound is very clear, without distortion, mid bass and highs sounds perfect. Recently bought a second one and install it with 2 6.75 PRO Series and 2 6x9 PRO Series from Pioneer, the sound is AMAZING!!! I just need a couple of subs to get my system complete. But again, it whort every cent.
Fantastic, just watch what seller you're buying from

Fantastic dynamic range, and YouTube dynos show it meets rated power. Only two ditties. Make sure to have wire ferals, because the angled inputs are a pain to try and use bare wire. And two- do NOT BUY FROM SOUNDOFTRISTATE Stay FAR away from them.

I was skeptical because I am an apline fanboy and couldn't get past the price difference between these two brands when comparing similar products. I currently run a PDX VP-9 5 channel in my truck. I was doing my car and it will need a 2 amps to get all the speakers powered and I just didn't want to spend $1,500 on the alpines.. everything else is the same, kicker C's speakers and jl subs so the only change is pioneer amps. I will say the sound is not quite as good but the power seems fine. I was able to buy 2 pioneer amps for less than 1 Alpine. If price is a concern buy the pioneers. I have been pounding mine for about 2 months and everything seems fine so far.

Used this to replace an underpowered amp and definitely much better. Good power and easy to install.
