Best value I've seen in a home blender
By Reid on Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2019
I was at first a tad skeptical about Ninja as a brand, given their price point, as I've worked in professional settings with much more expensive Vitamix machines. A month into owning the Ninja Intelli-Sense, I've been making smoothies every morning with a variety of ingredients coarse and soft, as well as cubed ice. The blades are in great condition and the blender powers through the densest of recipes with aplomb. In addition to smoothies, I've also riced cauliflower with the food processing attachment, and the end result had good consistency - better than I'd have expected for any blender at this price point. I appreciated the touch screen interface here, where sticky fingers can mean olive oil or other food matter migrating inside the machine through button holes. Not a problem here; the screen can be wiped down safely with a wet paper towel. Each attachment is recognized by the blender base, reducing the guess-work as to which program to select for the job you're throwing at it. As far as the large blender attachment, I never have protein powder or other residues that stick to the side because they aren't blended. I think this is owing to the way Ninja stacks the blades fairly high with the ice crushing attachment. One neat feature I didn't expect was the little spout at the corner of the pitcher, which lets you pour the contents into a glass in a controlled fashion. So far, I can't say enough good things about this Ninja. I'm very happy with the purchase, and having paid $78 for an Amazon Renewed unit, I think it's a steal (I'd been expecting to spend somewhere in the $250-300 range for a comparably powered blender).

“Normal Wear and Tear” = 2 Years of Use
By Tina Nagaitis on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2021
This product performed admirably for the first two years. Then this morning, as I was attempting to use the food-processing pitcher, the blade would not/could not engage with the base motor; the motor was on, but the blades did not turn. As I picked up the pitcher to see what might be wrong, the entire base housing came off in my hand and fell apart. As I continued to try to determine what might be wrong, I saw that the internal housing of the pitcher base was completely covered with residue from prior use - oils, spices, etc. - and the rubber gasket that was supposed to provide the protective seal to keep the base in place and keep residue out had been stretched considerably. Since I had religiously followed the “Care and Maintenance” instructions and allows washed all parts by hand and left on a drain mat to dry, I called Ninja’s Customer Service looking for an explanation. After a lengthy conversation, including a video call session, I was finally told that this is considered “normal wear and tear” for a 2-year-old unit, used 2-3 times/week. I find this explanation laughable. The only reason we had purchased this Ninja unit is because we had recently given my Mother’s still-operational Osterizer - purchased in the 1950’s - to a relative. Wish I had kept the Osterizer.
