Marmot Slate Everyday Travel Bag

I am a fan of Marmot gear for my excursions outside of Normal...but what about being in the city? Not that that's always "Normal," but you know. At any rate, this bag is made with the same care and attention that my other Marmot gear is. It's sturdy. Strong. Frankly it could almost double for a daypack. Plenty of cushioning in the straps and back to make it comfortable for extended wear, and the materials are really going to hold up. Zippers don't bind and the overall design makes it compact but still easy to get what I want out of it when I want it. I have to gush a little about the pockets. This is a relatively compact form factor, but there are plenty of pockets here to keep things organized and accessible. And despite that form factor, I have my 15" MacBook Pro in here with plenty of room to spare. Easy to carry that, two external USB drives, power supply with cable, Ethernet cable, battery, pens, notebook, three cigars, water bottle, and a copy of The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared. The bag isn't 100% waterproof, but certainly resistant enough to shed water during rain or splashes. I don't have any concerns carrying it in a storm. Overall, a very good daily-carry bag. I think it's fantastic.
