Quality Construction; Metal Housing

I bought this retractable hose reel for use with my 5 gal Bostitch pancake air compressor, and it works flawlessly. Mounting was a breeze - the product comes with solid lag bolts and mortar anchors, so I had to go to my local hardware store to buy heavy-duty drywall anchors (the stud nearby was already used with a 12 ga electrical reel). There are four holes, and they're all a little hard to access, so you'd be well served with either a ratcheting socket set (if using the lag bolts) or a 90 degree bit for a drill (if using drywall anchors). The reel itself comes with a quick connect fitting for the end of the hose and a quick connect adapter for the air supply along with PTFE tape, but buy some better PTFE tape and throw out what they give you. Once the adapter was installed, I connected my air compressor to the hose reel using my existing 1/4" quick connect line. Operation is fully effortless, there are stops about every ~8-12 inches and the device retracts wonderfully with the 4 rollers (to keep abrasion to a minimum). No leaks that I could tell of either, I listened for the telltale sign of hissing air. And the stop is easily adjustable using a couple of phillips screws. Perfect for using air tools, nail guns, filling up tires, etc. It's a great value, 5/5.

Junk

Hooked it up to the air compressor and it has a huge air leak at the swivel connection. The spring is too weak to pull back the last 10 ft of hose, need to hand wind in the last 10-15 feet. Everything else seems to be quality but I don’t want a hose reel that can’t hold air.
