Bezrat Microwave Tall Glass Plate Cover

After two years this glass lid cracked while reheating mashed potatoes, I’m still stumped on how it even happened. In the listing of this item it does say life long, hoping they will replace it for me. Besides this, we have really loved using it. Easy to clean & worked great until it cracked.

well made. glass is clear so it's easy to see what you're heating, and thick so not too easy to break. but well made thickness means it is a lot heavier than the plastic covers that always turn from a circle to an oval in the dishwasher. only point of order is that glass cover is slightly wider than the floor of the microwave, which means that it has to be raised slightly off the microwave floor, as being on a plate would do, for the door to close. so to leave it stored in the microwave i just tilt it slightly to sit on top of the bump-out along the floor. --probably not all microwaves have this design feature inside.

This cover was purchased in August 2023 and by June 2024 one of the side “glass handles” detached leaving a very dangerous sharp edge. This item got very light use and was always hand washed. There was no impact or misuse, as you can see there aren’t any other cracks. One day, while washing after use that part simply fell off and I’m just thankful I saw it before cutting my hands.

Pros-Heavy duty glass cover- it cooks the food more evenly than plastic cover. It has a tall profile so it fits over most containers without touching the food. The handle does not get hot, so you don't need an oven mitt to remove after cooking. No BPA, easy to clean, it has two holes in the top for ventilation. Cons- It may just be mine but the handle is a bit off-centered so you have to careful when resting it upside down, also the two holes that are drilled in top were not sanded down well, the edges are a little sharp. You have to turn the lid upside down because a LOT of condensation builds up when cooking and the water that drips is VERY hot (burn hazard). If the handle was wider that would help with resting it on a counter.

Use it all the time for microwave to catch splatters and keep food moist. I would recommend checking the knob for tightness periodically; the one I've been using for 2 years or so came off the knob when moving it from microwave to sink, and shattered on the floor. But it worked so well that I simply replaced it, and will be more careful moving it in the future.

Everything I expected from product. It is a little heavy because it is thick glass and I'm used to plastic covers. Have read articles about using plastics in microwaves can leak micro plastics into food. So use this one. Covers regular size plates well, handle doesn't get hot, deep enough for top of food on plate not to touch top of cover. Seems like a quality product.

I used to always use a plastic splatter cover in my microwave, but since I've tried the glass one I will never go back to plastic. It's so easy to clean, fits the plate perfectly,it's vented to release steam, and has either to top handle to lift the cover or two side handles to use. I've seen reviews stating that this cover is heavy,so I was kinda of weary, but once I received it the cover is no heavier than most plates. I'm very pleased with this product

I like the glass microwave cover quite well as it does the intended job of preventing splatter without introducing unwanted chemicals into our food. The cover is a bit heavy and tends to collect a lot of condensation which is expected. The one major disappointment is that within 4-5 weeks of normal use the lid developed a spontaneous crack between the black knob and one of the vent holes. The cover has never been dropped or fallen so the crack was a big surprise. It makes me wonder how durable this lid really is. I guess time will tell. Of course, the crack occurred right after the return period was over, so I've just got to pray it doesn't fall apart completely. Update 9/17/20: Well it finally happened. When shaking the condensation off the cover over the sink the lid shattered leaving only the rubber handle in my hand. Shards of glass went everywhere including in the plate of food that was just heated. Thankfully no one was injured. Now on to find a new microwave cover!

Covers a big plate. Didn't realize it would b so heavy. But it's a good glass that won't break easily.

The vent holes are too small to really vent, we still get a lot of condensation. Only our first plastic cover vented well with a large hole in the center. But plastic discolors and absorbs food. However, this is a nice solid piece of glass and the size is great -- it fits well on big plates and is high enough for just about anything. It's easy to clean. Somewhat worried that the bare vent holes will end up cracking, but so far so good.
