Teeter FitSpine LX9
By Kerntucky Mother Hen on Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2022
It is too early to accurately gauge the therapeutic effectiveness of this device. I’ve owned it for only a few weeks. It is NOT the model that fits easily underneath your bed. This is more of a permanent gymnasium floor device, because the base is not foldable. It is heavy, and moving it requires breaking it down into two or three pieces. Assembly took about an hour. Instructions were well scripted. There is a learning curve in fine tuning the device to fit your needs. Each user must take notes on adjustments of the device to optimally suit their needs. I adjusted the height to be an inch less than my actual height, for efficient fulcrum balance. I have found best comfort when wearing high top Service (combat) boots, as these best cradle the ankles when clamped down with the ankle locking mechanism. Using the device with bare feet is uncomfortable. Time will tell how I benefit from this device, so today, I give it 3 Stars.

Repetition is the key to yielding lasting benefits

I purchased after suffering a reoccurring bout of a pinched nerve in my neck, causing right arm pain. Earlier in the year, I went to a chiropractor over a couple of months to resolve. This time I’ve been self-treating with some of tools learned from the chiropractor: tens unit, percussion device, and LoRox roller. After about a month I began looking at other options. It’s only been about 3-days, and the pain completely clears while using the inversion table. I can stand completely straight and relaxed immediately afterwards. But the upper back shoulder / next tension eventually does return within a few hours, manifesting with the arm pain which becomes intense. However, I am encouraged that I’m making progress, and haven’t needed the other tools. Although I still stretch with the roller twice a day. Likewise, I’ve been using the inversion table at least 3-times daily - in fact, I do look forward to using it. There doesn’t seem to be much information on a suggested regimen to follow in rehab. But I generally can tolerate about 5’ of inversion per repetition. There is a lot of stress on your feet, ankles, Achilles, and knees, and one won’t be able to use this inversion table tilted very far if nursing injuries to these areas. I will usually tilt back to neutral (flat) position for a moment, before inverting for another repetition. Three or four repetitions is what I have worked out. The product itself is very well designed and was easy to complete assembly. While the experience of vulnerability to tipping over or getting hurt still harbors my mind, the apparatus is rock solid. I’m exceeding the rated weight at 350lbs and I’m also tall at 6’ 3”, and have been carefully using without a spotter. Time will tell if this resolves my issue, but it’s at least providing enough relief to allow me to sleep and function. But I believe that repetition is the key to yielding lasting benefit. UPDATE 01/20/21: I’m still using the inversion table, before and after work daily. My entire back feels better, and I’ve not had any new injuries or spasm. My neck is improving finally after over a month of self-rehab. However, I’ve also added a neck traction device. Cumulatively, everything has helped, and this multi-faceted treatment regimen is how the chiropractor treated me last year. I still look forward to using the inversion table though, a few minutes makes a big difference two or three times daily. UPDATE: 03/07/21 So the good news is that my arm pain, nerve numbness and tingling feelings are completely gone. My shoulders and neck still develop tension as the work day goes on, but my evening therapy regimen relaxes everything. No issues sleeping now, and I haven’t had to do as much. Settled into a good routine of stretching each evening. However, I’ve tweaked my lower back in February bending down. This was extremely frustrating as my lower back had been feeling great with all the stretching rehabbing by neck / upper back. And those latter issues had only just recently improved. Sucks getting older.. anyhow the inversion table was difficult to use nursing lower back spasms. Had a few panic moments when a spasm would grip me hard while inverted. Even getting off the apparatus was tenuous with every movement guarded and the spasms intense. Eventually I did feel my lower back cracking, which for me is the gateway to relief. The LoRox roller helps and works in tandem with the inversion table, alternating repetition between them. It’s taken nearly a month to restore my normal gait, some days it’s still stiff. UPDATE: 03/26/21 I’m still using almost everyday. Haven’t needed the neck traction apparatus this month, as the inversion table seems perfect for maintenance to my neck symptoms. My lower back has only recently improved, it still gets stiff but no more spasms. Hopefully my lower back will completely fade to black soon. My back pain has never persisted this long. That said, at least I’ve saved the time and expense of a chiropractor and last year’s physician’s visit was costly. I still look forward to using the Teeter almost immediately upon hitting the house after a long day at work.

First, I am 72 year old male and in reasonably good health, USMC Vietnam combat vet, 1969. I purchased this unit after trying similar models in a store. The unit is light weight, durable, and fairly easy to assemble. It took me about 25 minutes from box to full assembly, working by myself, and I am not as quick as I used to be. You must adjust the bar to the correct height to ensure that the unit is controllable when going back and returning to upright. If the height is set properly you can control the speed and control of the unit by just moving your arms. If you set it too short it will go back too quickly and will be difficult to return to upright. ... Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. If set too long, it may be difficult to go back to upright position . It is helpful to attach the restraining strap to control how far you go back unless you want to free hang, which I would not recommend if you have blood pressure problems or other medical conditions. For the first few times, you need to ensure that there is someone else there when you use the machine to ensure that it is set properly and so that you can be pulled back to upright if it is not properly adjusted. There are pressure point modules supplied that can be installed, but so far I haven't found it necessary to use them. They pop in and pop out easily. I try to spend a few minutes on the machine each day and it has been very useful to reduce some lower back pain and tightness in the thoracic area as well. It is not an inexpensive machine, but it is built well and should have many years of functionality. I would suggest trying out something similar before buying to ensure that your body can handle the stress of the machine. Some sporting goods stores have inversion machines and you can try one out there. If you like using inversion, and if the cost is within your budget, I highly recommend this unit. I am NOT an employee of Teeter, nor are any family members, friends or associates employees of Teeter. I have NOT received any compensation or consideration for this review.
I bought this after my 1st taste of sciatica

Ive been going to a chiropractor for a couple years now. Generally every 2 to 3 weeks. About 2 months ago for the 1st time in my life Ihad a bought of sciatica. How did I know thats what it was? Well Im 42, Ive heard of what it is, and when that nerve cluster squeezed tight and I couldnt find relief no matter how I sat or layed down, I just knew. Its a pain so unique that when it happens you just know thats what it is. Anyways I went to my chiropractor after 3 days of that pain. He confirmed thats what it was, he performed his magic and told me to come back in 2 weeks, or sooner if it acts up again. By chance this table was on sale the 2nd day of my pain session and I ordered it. I religously lay in it for 5 minutes a day. Maybe 2 or 3 times if I feel my back getting tight (im remodeling a 6k sq ft house by myself). Is it working or is my chiropractor just a genius? Is my body getting stronger from all the daily work Im doing? I think its a bit of each. These are the facts, I havent had another sciatic nerve spasm. My next chirporactor appointment left my doctor telling me to come back in 3 weeks. 3 weeks later my chiropractor told me to come back in 6 weeks. I havent had any severe back pain in close to 2 months. I get some tightness, the occasional sharpish pain, but nothing that registers in my head "you just messed up, your gonna need professional attention in the next 3 days". I dont know how much of my improvement is from this table, but Im putting out 10 hours of physical labor 7 days a week and Im basically pain free so Im gonna keep doing what Im doing. That includes hanging upside down from my ankles for 5 minutes a day.

This is an excellent product for most people but, maybe not for us huge people. I got the LX9 which is good for up to 300 lbs. and yes, the product is more than sturdy enough for that wt., and long enuff for 6'5". But what about other things that might be bigger on bigger taller people? I can squeeze in between the handles, but my shoulder blades hang over the sides of the table. It would be so much more comfortable if it was about 3" wider. Fortunately, the pressure point knobs work well enuff in the horizontal position to relieve the worst of my issues. Hopefully they have a work around on the way for the tether...mine won't adjust tight enuff for a truly horizontal position, the closest you can get to horizontal is about 10 degrees inversion. All in all it's a great product out of the box and most users won't have these issues.
Saved me from PT and surgery

I cannot say enough great things about Teeter inversion table! I have a herniated disc and nerve damage and to say I was in pain is an understatement. I needed ER treatment, as I was temporarily immobilized for about 5 hours but due to CovidI was unable to go to the ER. I waited out the day with very little improvement and went to see a spinal doctor the next morning. After several tests and scans it was determined I had significant nerve related injury due to the herniation and began PT immediately, 3x a week from August to December 2020, with surgery scheduled for early January 2021. I began PT with very little improvement but at least I was mobile. My friend encouraged me to purchase this table, as she had this exact injury 8 years ago and has used the Teeter daily with great relief. I literally would have paid any price for relief so I didn't even second guess it, I just ordered it. The teeter arrived (late... the shipping is awful, I had to call and get them to ship it) but it finally arrived! My husband assembled it within 45 minutes and I was using it immediately. I began at about 20% inverted for 2 weeks. By the end of the second week my therapist couldn't believe the difference. The difference was so significant I was taken off therapy entirely! I use this 5 minutes daily at 40% inverted and working my way up to 60% but I'm basically pain free and at this point no need for surgery. Teeter saved my back. I will use this for life. Do not buy other brands because this is the only company FDA approved from what I can tell and the unit is very very stable... Important when inverted! The first few times you use it I would recommend having someone in the room. I have the model with the lever to lock your ankles in, also recommend. *Update February 2021* seeing me scheduled surgery date come and go was the best feeling! Being able to bend over fully and have no pain is awesome. Teeter saved my back! I'm fully functional with no medical intervention. I don't know how that's possible but here I am!

I bought this one as it had the platform and long bar to close your ankles. I had the money, so I bought the top one. I think the models without it are fine but my husband has never been able to bend and touch his toes and I bought this for him. I used it also. We don't have serious issues, just in our 60s and can feel our joints and spine compressed. We are always stretching and moaning. I work out and he does yard work on our property that is a hill. We go to the chiropractor a few times a year for adjustments. I asked the chiropractor if he recommends and he said enthusiastically yes. After using it for a few minutes, I can feel some decompression. You should use it a few minutes each time, no longer than 15 but use it several times a day for maximum results. Our neighbor has serious back issues and swears by it. Teeter is the only inversion table that is FDA approved medical device. Assembly was not as easy as it said and there was an app that you had to download. The directions were not clear on a few things, like the cup holder. We had to disassemble the right hand lever thing and attach it to the inside of it. My husband is mechanical and figured out where the directions failed. It doesn't have a million pieces though and comes partially assembled.

2 days. That's all it took for me to start feeling relief from sciatic issues in my lower back. 60-days of PT, a back brace, massage and several lotions to reduce inflammation didn't even help as much as this table did in 2 DAYS!! The price might raise your eyebrow but in the end, it's covered under your HSA/FSA and is a far better investment than PT or massage. The only frustration I had with this was trying to use the BILT app. It looks cool but I couldn't locate the QR code necessary to find my Teeter model. I eventually went old school and actually read the manual that came with it. 100% the way to go. They're clear and like they promote - 85% of the machine is already put together. After about 3 steps, I was able to figure out the rest of the construction myself without any issues. All the tools are provided making it super-simple. If you're considering a cheaper product - DON'T! The LX9 model came in a super-thick and durable box and is unbelievably well constructed and sturdy. From the first use, I felt stable and comfortable. The attention to detail is amazing too - note the rivets (front and back pages only) of the instruction manual that hangs on the machine. You won't find every company providing these small details. I can tell this product is meant to last and I can't wait to see more benefits from using it!
Extremely Good for Back, Neck and Knee Pain

Purchased this health device for my husband at the advice of his chiropractor who is also a register nurse and applied kinesiologist. It took him about 1.5 hours to set up by himself, taking his time. Make sure you read the instructions completely prior to setup. All of the parts were sent along with tools for a successful installation, don’t forget the drink caddy needs to be placed at the proper time. This is easily adjustable to convert from his over 6 ft. Frame to my 5 ft few inches height. Takes a few tries to achieve smooth inversion properly. On first try, I felt a positive difference in my knee and upper back! My husband really likes this machine and we both are walking with improved posture and definite decrease in pain in all affected areas. This Teeter actually helps to reverse normal spinal compression from gravitational pull, relieving pain in neck, back, knees and lower back. A straighter spine has given me increased energy from spinal decompression. This is a great product and you don’t need to hang totally upside down like a sleeping bat! (But you can if you want :0)
Lower back pain has eased up

I suffer from three back injuries from the military. My lower left sciatic has been flaring up a lot recently. I told a chiropractor I know that I got one and he said that just use it for about a minute and a half to two minutes each use and not for long periods and that I don't have to go past 60 degrees to get the desired results. So I use it three times a day, and it has been life changer. This version is very pricey but its an investment into yourself and the feet holders are very comfortable, I just try to not go in without socks covering or pants covering where it locks to be the best for comfort. Putting it together wasn't too bad either, it has you download this app that shows you a step by step process and really wasn't bad, I thought it was going to be more complicated but wasn't.
