Personally I prefer using this on pulse mode, but unlike other blenders I've used the presets actually do a good job at what they're labeled for.

This blender has a major fault in that the gasket is extremely hard to place. It allows the liquid to leak out of the bottom of the blender. I can't get it seated correctly.
