Top positive review
Works like a charm and at a good price

I've been looking to replace my older gaming laptop of 4 years. I needed a laptop which could run software for research, photo/video editing, and of course gaming. When I got a notification that this baby was on sale, I Immediately went for it and never looked back. I love that it has two exhaust ports at the back, as opposed to some which only have a single exhaust. It warms up when playing games, but never gets scalding. My CPU dances around the low 50's but my GPU dances between 60s-80s, depending on how heavy the game is. Cooling could probably be better, but I haven't experienced any thermal throttling. I play all my games on high to very high graphics settings while having chrome open on another screen and some other task on the third (I run a 3-monitor system, including the monitor of the laptop itself). Ports can be found in the back of the laptop, which could be good or bad, depending on your set-up. I find it mildly cumbersome to set-up each time I bring my laptop home, since I need to reach out to connect it. But since it's in the back, the cables don't hinder the aesthetic of the table, which is a plus. For I/O's, the charger is plugged on the right side, there are USB ports on the left, right, and back sides (1 each). The HDMI out, USB-C, micro-DVI, and ethernet-out are also at the back. The headphone jack is on the left. Runs on a 120gb SSD and 1TB HD, so loading times are great without worrying about running out of space. Overall a great laptop. Fits all my work, personal, and gaming needs.

Works well, but don't mess with Windows. It's very customized.

DONT TRY TO MESS WITH WINDOWS. The screen will stop operating at 144 hz and it will overheat constantly if you reinstall Windows and there's no way to fix it without sending it to HP. Their official tool didn't even help.
