Magnetic remote control is a nice feature. Lamp works with wall switches also, with a caveat...
By XYZZY on Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2019
Very pleased with the fact that it has a glass diffuser on top, instead of plastic. The Build quality is very good, even the touch switch is well integrated and functional. I did not purchase it for the remote control feature, however I am finding it very convenient, and it has an internal magnet to attach to metal surfaces as well. The dimmer works well, and I counted about 31 Intensity levels. Also I noticed no RFI interference with AM radio listening like the buzz produced with standard AC wall dimmers. The light is very bright with a warm color, reminiscent of a dimmed clear incandescent bulb, and there was no color shift throughout the entire intensity range. I would like to see Tenergy offer other color options though, instead of just black. The on/off is instantaneous from both the remote and the touch switch, however when turning on from a wall switch it takes just over one second to come on. Also the last intensity level is not remembered when using the wall switch and defaults to full intensity when turned on. It is however remembered when using the remote or touch switch. One good feature is if you are using a wall switch, and turn it off from the remote or touch switch and walk away with the wall switch still on, you can turn the lamp back on when entering the room again by turning the wall switch off, and back on again. FYI: Be advised that there are two slightly different listings on Amazon for this floor lamp currently. This one that states wall switch compatible with a part number of 7539927408 in the product information, at $4.00 dollars more, and the other that does not list wall switch compatible with a part number of 59117. All I can say is the one I received does both tilt 90 degrees, and the top will rotate about 350 degrees as it has stops at either end to prevent twisting the cord up inside. Also the touch switch will also adjust the intensity by holding your finger down on it, then momentarily releasing and repeating with finger held down to go the other direction (takes some practice to master). The pictures people attached for the similar Tenergy item here on Amazon show a slightly tapered pole from the switch up. This one however is not tapered which could indicate a possible redesign, that besides other functional changes also allows this model to rotate independent of the base. .

Not a smart lamp.
By Isaac Roelfsema on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2024
Despite the product description saying it can be controlled with Google assistant and Alexa, that is not the case. If you read closely there are some places where it says you have to plug it into a smart outlet to control it with Alexa/Google. However, there are other places in the product description where that is not specified and it sounds like it should be controllable without the addition of a smart outlet. Deceptive. Light is ok, but definitely not as bright as I expected for a $70 lamp.
