VERY UPSET WITH THE ITEM AND AMAZON

I bought this as a gift for my son in law. With the COVID it took a while to have it taken to him and for him to try it out. The very first time, the weather was good and he brought it out. He followed instructions and filled it with oil as directed in the manual. As he added gas to the tank it began to leak profusely out the bottom. There seems to be a faulty seam. The first time he tried to pull start the engine, it seized up and that is now a piece of junk. Even worse, Amazon only gives a month on returns now. BEWARE!. What recourse do I have? This was over $300. DO NOT BUY!!!
