Why does this have so many good reviews?
By Bobby on Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2023
I want to start off by saying I'm disappointed by this item. I was shocked because of all the five star reviews, buy why? The quality of this mouse pad is bad. I just making a guess, but it feels like this is thin. The reason this is important, you can feel every simple bump under the mouse pad. My desk that I use for my gaming setup has a texture under it. I've used some mouse pads that are around this price range that are thicker than this one. I've actually used ones cheaper that this one as well. this makes a huge difference when gaming. This was very disappointing because it may work for all desk, but quality and performance may vary. Second point of why I think this item is disappointment and no, I'm not just being mean about this product, I'm providing an honest review based on thousands of reviews I've done while being on Amazon and doing my best to make people aware of the actual quality of the products I've ordered. Now that we are talking about quality, this is the next point I want to make about the product. The fabric that is used to just feels cheap. I don't know if it's the actual cloth used for the item or if it's the stitching, but the mouse just don't slide well and this is with glass mouse feet. Normally I have a test that I perform when I'm testing a new mouse pad and that is with an air duster. I will set the air duster that I got from Amazon. Normally with most decent mouse pads, the mouse will fly across the mouse pad with no issues. This one slides like I have standard feet on the mouse. I want to add this is a very tiny mouse, the Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition and it shouldn't have no issues with gliding. The only positive thing I want to add about this item is the size. I've gotten other mouse pads that are supposed to be the size that the Amazon page states for the item, but this is the only one that I've tested that fit my desk properly. I would like to add that the mouse pad isn't the dimensions that are specified on the seller's page. The dimensions state it is 24"x48". The dimensions of this product is 23"x47". I think of this in a cost to sales perspective. If you add up how much you space you are losing by an inch being shaved off, you are losing 30 square inches. Yes, I know this isn't much, but it is something that's important to keep in mind that's 30 square inches you're paying for. That is real-estate on your desk that could have been covered. I thought it was kind of weird that the other 24'x48' mouse pads I own were hanging off my desk, but this one fit perfectly for some reason. Overall, I don't like the product. I don't like the fact that the item doesn't glide right. For the cost of this product, it should be the right size. I don't know if people have noticed this and it could possibly be this is a fluke. Shaving off an inch on both sides may not seem like a big deal, but it could if there is a person(s) who needed a mouse pad to fit their desk based on the specifications that were provided. Also, hopefully this isn't shaving off inches for cost savings towards the seller. If you have this mouse pad and you've noticed the same thing, I would suggest telling the seller about it or leaving a review. If the page states it should be a certain size, it should be that size. This is 30 square inches of mouse pad that was paid for that wasn't received.

I previously owned the HyperX Fury S cloth mousepad with the same measurement (45cm x 40cm) and I purchased the Glorious mousepad for its white & black color scheme. The mousepad came in good condition and had good stitching. It works well, mouse glides well. It's very functional. Some differences I have noticed between the two brands: Despite the near-identical product measurements and specifications for both the HyperX Fury S cloth mousepad and the Glorious XL Heavy cloth mousepad, the Glorious mousepad seems just slightly lower quality in terms of its weight, flatness, and its grip on your desk as you use it. The Glorious mousepad shifts a few inches when I use it for gaming (I am an arm mover) and my new desk surface is wood. In contrast, I used the HyperX cloth mousepad for 5 years on a glass table and it has never budged. I've had the Glorious mousepad for over a week now, and 2 corners are still curled. I may have to lightly iron it flat. Overall, it's a pretty good mousepad. I am not too bothered with it shifting around slightly as I play. But if these are deal-breakers for you, you may want one of the longer ones where the keyboard can be placed on the mousepad to prevent it from shifting or get a different brand.

Background: I've stated playing CS:GO more and more recently in lieu of other FPS titles that had caught my attention in the past, and I was in need of a larger mouse pad for the sensitivity required to effectively play CS. I have owned a SteelSeries QCK in the past; my first 'good' mouse pad. While nothing was inherently wrong with it, it was starting to fade in the center from my mouse. However, this was not my biggest issue. The QCK, while great tracking, was much too small for my sensitivity, 800 DPI with a 1.0 in-game in CS:GO. I kept either running out of space on the right, and running into my keyboard on the left. Also, nitpicking here, but the QCK had started to suffer from peeling of the fabric on the lower left of the pad, but it is minor at this time, and didn't initially bring me towards this mouse pad. About the Glorious XL Heavy: I love this thing. While I still run into my keyboard, I have been way less with this size of mouse pad. Because of the stitched edges, I will never have to worry about the edges fraying or peeling up from the base. In the relatively short time I've owned this mouse pad, so far no viable wear can be seen on the top surface; which is extremely smooth for a soft mouse pad. Even though the mouse pad came rolled in a box, it never kept it's rolled shape once I set it flat on a table. The mouse pad instantly flattened out to the contours of the table. The only few possible negatives I can think of are very minor: they include the decently sized logo in the bottom right corner, and the quality of the stitching. When mousing over the logo the mouse noticeably slows down, but the tracking on my Logitech G502 stays consistent over the logo. When I mean the stitching's quality isn't great, that isn't entirely true. The bulk of the stitching feels like stitching should, and isn't too bulky to where the mouse pad noticeably rises at the edges and can move around. However, I can tell the exact point where the stitching started and stopped, as there is noticeable imperfections in the pattern of the stitching in those sites. Pros: - Price: Not so much that a prospective buyer is scared away, not too low that one might think this is a deal too good to be true - Overall Feel: The first impressions of this mouse pad as I took it out of the packaging were great. The bottom feels great, stitching (for the most part) looks good and consistent, the logo is decently detailed and small enough for me, and the smoothness of the top was phenomenal. - Surface: No tracking imperfections, and the texture is extremely fine. Flick shots with the AWP are effortless (aside for the weight of the mouse), and my mouse's feet will survive much longer on this mouse pad than they might've on my QCK - Thickness/Plushness: There is no doubt; this is a thick mouse pad. It is even in the title. This might detract from the appeal for some, but it was a must have for me. This thing in extremely comfortable to mouse on, and will even out any uneven surfaces I'll ever encounter. Cons: - Logo: While I think the logo's size and grippiness is a moot point, I can see how for some this is a big issue. The resistance is much more over the logo, and many have reported mouse tracking wigging out over this point. Also, the logo might even be a little too much for some. - Stitching Imperfections: While I have stated above that the stitching is overall really good, the noticeable bump where the stitching has started and stopped is annoying to me more than anything. This was the first negative I have encountered with this mouse pad, and I encountered it while taking it out of the packaging. This is a first impression issue. While it doesn't effect the usefulness of the mouse pad, it will effect the wide-spread use of the pad Overall, I will end up using this mouse pad until the end of it's effective cycle, and then consider buying another; if still in production. However, the logo and stitching imperfections may be too big of a deal for others.

I ordered this as a replacement mat since my Razer Goliathus was very old and had no further hope of getting better with cleaning and just wasn't quite big enough for me anymore. I was looking for a mouse pad that was bigger and very thin as I have dual mice setup and wanted the most coverage but not a very thick mat. I chose this mat due to the size/specs. The mouse mat came to me very quickly as anything from Amazon does. There was a slight odor when opening the package but nothing more than when I opened the Razer mat or the Kingston hyperx xxl mat. Within a day it was basically gone. I know there have been others that have reported differently. The mat is made very well and appears that it will hold up over time. It has very good craftsmanship from the edging and the top weave that the mouse will be on all the time. Overall very pleased with the mat and the quality/size of it so far. The only issue that I have now run into is the sporadic tracking issues my Naga 2014 mouse is having on this mat. I am not blaming the mat for this but only typing it so others are aware. I started noticing where when using the mouse, it appeared to hit dead spots where the pointer would just stop moving for a sec or at times appear to hit an invisible wall. Now, with razer I did use the software to calibrate, reset the sensor, and update any drivers/firmware. I have 4 nagas with two of them being on this pad. One of the mice actually is turning out to have a bad sensor. However, using the other three as test mice I did notice something. Both 2014 nagas display the same behavior using this mat. The 2012 Naga doesn't display this problem. The 2011 version doesn't either. One of the 2014 mice is getting replaced as it is messing up now no matter where I use it. The other 2014 displays this problem only while using this mat. If I go back to Goliathus mat, no problems. Just so its noted, I used a windows 8.1 with synapse, windows 7 with synapse, and a windows 7 with just windows default driver installed. This way to eliminate the pc being the issue. Now I do have another solid black mouse mat made by Kingston which is the largest they make. I am not using it due to the thickness of the mat as it just seemed to not allow my arm/wrist lay properly. Other than that, I like the size of it as well. However, with it being solid black as well, I wanted to test it with these mice to see if the same issue occurred and it did. So, the only thing that is really different between the Kingston and Glorious vs the Razer pad is that the razer has green and design print where the mouse resides and isn't solid black like the other two. It seems like the newer nagas have issues tracking on a solid black mouse mat. So if any of you have that mouse and get this Mouse Mat, please keep in mind it may not track right and its not the mat being defective, its the sensor just not working well with it. I also googled my experience and did find quite a bit of others with similar issues with solid black mats and these mice. So overall, if you are looking for an extra large mat dont hesitate to get this one. I have like it for the week that I have had it. If for any reason this changes over the next month or so, I will come back and update my review.
Best Cloth Mouse Mat / Pad Available

Introduction Everyone has heard of SteelSeries, Razer, Puretrak, Thermaltake, etc. Not many people have heard of Glorious PC Gaming Race. I know I never did until I stumbled upon a mouse pad I thought would be perfect for myself. It was ginormous, stitched edges, all black, and super cheap. I ordered one. It turned out to be epic, and I don't mean better-than-the-rest epic, I mean better-than-the-rest-and-I-won't-buy-another-mouse-pad epic. The best part of the whole deal was being able to talk to them and communicate my thoughts and expressions directly, it was something I've never been able to do, except with ZOWIE for a short period of time. Anyway, back to the mouse pad, it comes in five different sizes Large (13x11"), Extra Large (18x16" 3mm), Extra Large Heavy (18x16" 6mm), Extended (36x11"), and XXL Extended (36x18"). So many options. Review I'll be honest, when I ordered one of their mouse pads, I wasn't expecting much. I ordered a XL Heavy, since I loved using a QcK+ Heavy. I've used almost every mouse pad on the market, and I usually always go back to a QcK. However, I can assure you that is not the case anymore. With the Glorious PC Gaming Race mouse pads you get a medium-low friction with a semi smooth surface. It's fantastic for all sensitivities, but probably favors low and medium over high. If you used a high sensitivity, you probably wouldn't have much control over your mouse. For this review I've used a SteelSeries Kinzu v1, Kinzu v2, and Logitech G302. I do not test mouse pads with laser sensors, they are not nearly as picky as optical. I can say with 100% confidence that the fabric used for these mouse pads does not affect the performance or hinder an optical sensor in any way. The G302 has a great sensor, so I expected that to be good. However, with my SteelSeries Kinzu v3 it had trouble tracking on a QcK at high speeds, and another one as well. Both were all black, so I thought it was the sensor. I tried it on the Glorious PC Gaming Race mouse pads and it seemed to have improved a lot. Another fantastic thing about these mouse pads is the rubber backing. It's thick, but not too thick. It does not slide at all, though I have a standard desk with no anomalies. Overall, the Glorious PC Gaming Race mouse pads have been amazing to me. I have used them for nearly two weeks and have not once had a single defect or issue yet. I've went between many different sizes and options, and I seemed to have fell in love with the XXL Extended version. It's big enough for my monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I will never run out of space, and it allows me to play the way I need to and feel the most comfortable at the same time. Conclusion If you're looking for a mouse pad, and need a specific size, or want to try something totally new, get one of these Glorious PC Gaming Race mouse pads. They have a size for everyone, and they perform as good, if not better, than the competition. I can't think of a single cloth mouse pad that performs better than these, especially a QcK or a Razer Goliath. The kicker to all of this is their price, it's completely insane for the quality that you're getting. As of this article, the most expensive option is $22. A similarly spec'd mouse pad from another company would be $30-40 easily, and you wouldn't get stitched edges. Pick one of these up today!

[Sample photos are of +2 years of use, no before cleaning…exactly like it’d sit on your desk.] PROS - Quality construction - Smooth, cushioned feel - Easy to clean & keep clean - Sleek, black, uniform look CONS - Inevitable side-stitching fray (+2yrs) - Non-removable logo If you want to know more, here’s a more in-depth look. I purchased this gaming desk pad in 2020, and after 2 years of moderate to heavy use, this gaming pad is holding up, looking great, and an essential favorite in my office. This covers my entire desk and transformed the desk to be a more enjoyable surface to live and work in. • Quality construction looked and felt great out of the box. Heavy rupper mat laid flat and stayed put while the neoprene top felt smooth and silky on my wrists and arms. No more sharp edge cor ers or rubbing my forearms while I used my mouse or keyboard. • Easy to clean and easy to keep clean. Neoprene is easily cleaned with water or gentle soap and water.. I would spot clean with a soft bristle brush like a tooth brush, or use a shoe cleaning brush to clean the entire surface. I haven’t applied neoprene specific shampoo, but I imagine one could attain an even deeper feeling of clean by using some. Any time I did the deep clean, it always worked and was rather simple. • Bonus noise dampening effect as a result of the neoprene cushioning with rubber mat makes bumbs, knocks, and drops quieter and reduced the “ouch” factor of accidental bumps and scrapes. •Long lasting comfort helps me enjoy my desk longer. Long sessions can irritate our wrists, arms, palms, and more, but no lnger with this soft-to-the-touch comfy cover that lets me stay at my desk for longer and get more done with less discomfort. • While the logo looks good, and it is discrete with a minimal size dark grey on black, I would have prefered a more minimal branding logo like a side tag? or on the underneath recese side? This is the ONLY thing I can complain about, and it’s seriously not so bad. [OVERALL] It’s lasting and holding up pretty good. A better border that doesn’t fray and a more “blank mat” aesthetic would make me a lifelong customer if it happened. I’m still enjoying these and I’ll buy a second for my music production desk next. This is great to make your desk a more comfortable long-term task desk.
