"I am very good, but I could be better."
By Alexander Lopez on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2023
"My official rating is 4.8/5.0. This is my opinion on the Razer Nari Ultimate. To start, and most importantly, they are quite good and of excellent quality, and I highly recommend them – 100%. They are very enjoyable. Let's begin with the positive aspects of the product. The first point is that it's a very comprehensive package; it comes with everything, including cables and guides for use. The audio is another positive aspect. It's very pleasant and incredibly immersive when gaming or watching movies, especially within video games and, notably, horror games. You can feel the presence of something chasing you or breathing down your neck. The second point is comfort. They are quite comfortable to wear; I don't feel any extra weight, and they don't pull my hair. I also don't struggle to adjust them to fit my head perfectly. The third point is Bluetooth. It's the first time I've used headsets like this, and they've given me a lot of confidence, even though I tend to be quite skeptical about anything Bluetooth. As I mentioned before, I highly recommend them, and if you want quality, these are the best, and it's worth buying them. Now, let's discuss the negative points that I feel are somewhat unnecessary, but it's important to mention the downsides as well. The first negative point is the battery and its charging system. I combine these because they are related. The headphones should have a bit more battery life; I feel that 4 hours is too short if I want to do something other than gaming, such as watching movies or listening to music. However, I believe this is due to their own power for vibrations and everything. Another issue is the cable—not that it doesn't have a USB-C cable, but the problem is that if you use it for 4 hours, it gets discharged, and you have to connect it to another electronic device. It's not very clear whether you can use a phone charger or if it's mandatory to use a computer, gaming console, etc. I would have liked to know if I could connect it directly to a charger, and I don't do it because in a power change, it could damage the battery. So, I better follow the recommendations in the manual. The third negative point, which I see more as a potential future issue, is the unnecessary wheel for adjusting the game or chat volume. I think they could have left it with buttons or something different because I feel that with its current design, it may wear out in the future, and finding a central point might become challenging due to wear and tear. As mentioned before, they could have left it more like a system with volume buttons, maybe with 3 or 5 levels for game and chat audio. I feel that there might come a point where I won't know how to adjust that wheel to the central point. To conclude, the microphone has a peculiar issue. It seems to capture a lot of game audio, or more precisely, it picks up the voices of people around me, causing considerable echoing. The microphone itself is not bad; it's quite good and compact, but the problem is the excessive bouncing of audio, at least in shooter games."

The First and Last Razer Product I Will Buy
By Tim on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2022
Reliability:It stopped working after only hours of use. The headset worked for maybe 4 hours the first day with no critical issues (aside from the horrible audio quality and poor directional audio). However, on day 2 with literally only 4 hours of use, the headset stopped working. I had just charged it to full (green indicator was on) so I unplugged it and turned it on. About 10 minutes later it began to randomly spasm; it would disconnect & reconnect over and over, at an interval of about 30 seconds to 2 minutes. No matter how many times I tried to restart the headset, restart my computer, or move the transmitter to a different USB port, the headset would continue to disconnect and reconnect over and over. Mind you, the transmitter is only 3 or so feet in front of me and is facing my direction with no obstruction to signal. I tried moving it both closer and further away to no avail. In addition, every time it would disconnect it would lag spike my entire computer mid-game, so not only could I not hear the game or Discord during the continual disconnections, but I also could not move in-game for 2-3 seconds while the computer was at 1FPS due to the Nari. Truly a frustrating experience.Sound Quality:I bought a $20 wired Logitech back in 2013 and have used it as a backup up until I bought this Razer Nari headset a few days ago. The Nari is BY FAR worse than even an old 2013 $20 headset. Every sound produced by the Razer Nari sounds like you are underwater—completely muffled and tinny sounding. It's truly horrible. You will have to immediately download Razer's EQ software (Synapse) to get this headset to sound even remotely correct. Even after massive EQ'ing it will still sound really off, like your head is in a bucket—literally. I am convinced no amount of EQ'ing will ever fix this headset. It's just poor quality hardware. You can't tune the poor quality out of it. It's just impossible.Directional Audio:The directional sound is also horrible. This headset had me entirely confused while I was looking in the wrong direction in FPS games. It sounded like other players were literally walking directly in front of me when they were actually to my left or right. After being confused 2-3 rounds in a row I got suspicious. So, I specifically tested the directional audio in-game (by re-watching the matches) to see which way players actually were versus where it sounded like they were. Every single time the Nari was nowhere near correct in direction, and I mean really off; they were consistently off by 15-20 degrees or more, and no amount of changing the audio type or settings fixed this. Every other headset I tried on the exact same replay clips sounded perfectly fine in direction.Pro(s):It is by far the most comfortable headset I have ever put on. It is truly great to wear. They hug the ears very well and are super soft. The top-of-head-thing is also comfortable. Most headsets hurt the top of my head after a few hours but this one doesn't do that at all. That part I actually do really like about the Nari. I also like the volume wheel, although I wish it was more stiff so it wasn't so easy to overdue rotating it.Overall:Overall, do not buy this headset. It is the least reliable and poorest performing headset I have ever used. It may literally last you only one day like it did for me, and that one day will only consist of in-game confusion and frustration.
