NO RAZOR BUMPS!!! (but plz read) ♡
By kenny on Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2020
I decided to buy this for my boyfriend for many reasons.... he has combo skin. **Very** oily yet gets tons of dry patches. Gets them in his beard if he grows it out even just a little bit.. also gets them on his head. And he doesn’t have dandruff his skin just gets flakey. All over. He always got razor bumps when he shaved with “regular” razors. In general his face gets red easily and he gets dry patches. He doesn’t have “acne-acne” but usually has at least *one* type of pimple/zit..... the kind where as long as he gets really good sleep where his body is truly replenished? The one or two pimples he gets will go away. So non of his pimples are ever actually the kind that need popped intensely.. they are more just like big red bumps. So razor bumps.. and then red pimple-esc bumps. Let’s just say his skin is sensitive. I’d also like to mention I heard of this style of men’s “full kit safety razor” from the brand “Bevel” at first.... and once I looked them up here on amazon... *this* brand came up. And I saw this even had better reviews than the Bevel brand. It’s also cheaper than Bevel’s. So I went with this one. But I did end up buying him Bevel’s “Priming Oil” and “Restoring Balm” for before and after my boyfriend uses *this* brands’ razor kit. Just wanted to add that in incase the products are also helping with his results... So my boyfriend has only used this razor twice now.... a few days apart.... and NO RAZOR BUMPS!!!!! ***BUT***, he has nicked himself a lot with this razor. (I guess people say this style of razor and every day “run of the mill” razors are a trade off).... people say the regular razors you can buy at drug stores are “just perfectly made now a days.. they are made to be perfect, so you can’t get much better than how they are today in age”. But the only downfall to those types of razors are the price from constantly paying for new attachment heads. But with this style of razor? The safety razor? It’s cheaper... but it takes more time, more accuracy and patience... and like I said my boyfriend cut himself a bunch. And he is 32 years old so let’s just say he knows his way around a regular razor enough to not cut himself for many years now, lol. So basically I’d just say this razor takes some time to getting used to. I noticed another review mentioned how this style of razor is more of an “art” rather than a “chore”. And I liked that. This set makes everything more fun and boujee. I genuinely think (and my boyfriend even said this himself) that maybe after 10 times of using it he won’t cut himself anymore..... but he’s mostly happy that he doesn’t have any razor bumps!!! All I’m saying is it’s DEFINITELY worth a try at least..... especially since everyone is different, face shape and face sensitivity..... “you never know unless you try”. And it’s definitely worth it in my opinion cause it could be someone’s “holy grail” while it’s someone else’s “dumb worthless razor”. I’d also like to add there are YouTube videos and even a “How To” short video on Bevel’s amazon listing of their set.... I think that helped my boyfriend so I recommend watching it. Shows you how to accurately use the shaving stuff with the brush and how it’s supposed to exfoliate your skin before shaving.. so I recommend that if you’ve never used this style of razor before! I hope this helped!!!!

A really good kit except for the brush
By Victor C. Cina on Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2020
I bought this kit based on a friends recommendation. The razor, stand, travel case and soap cup are great. The brush is horrible. When I first got it, I followed the directions before my first use and like normal a stray hair would fall out. No big deal. I've now had the brush for 3 weeks and it is shedding hair faster than my cat. A couple of mornings ago, it lost a huge bundle of hairs. The center of the brush is almost gone. I've gone back to using the brush that came with my $15 dollar kit from the grocery store, that brush is still in one piece.
