Don't fly it in the wind. Read the instructions.

So I got 3 of these for Christmas. Two for my nephews and 1 for me of course. Charging was ez. Set up was ez. I set the manual on the front porch and started reading. Got to the launch section and fired it up. She took off. Had it hovering about 10 feet off the ground. Moved it forward and back, left and right. Looked at myself with the camera sitting on the porch, manual thrown to the side because you know, I got this. I decided to take her up higher, 30-40 feet. Well I should have checked the tops of the trees. As it got higher it started drifting. Like a ship caught in the trade winds it was really moving. Before I could grab the manual and read the landing section she was over the swamp and heading for the tops of the trees. No amount of joystick control could maneuver it from out over the swamp and back to Earth. She smacked the tops of the trees, flipped and was caught. Like Charlie Browns kite the drone eating tree had won. The next day I was out in my waders waist high in the swamp with my fishing pole trying to hook a drone 40 feet up a cypress tree. After a half hour or so I snagged it. She landed on a dry patch under the tree. When I got to her everything seemed fine except for one of the motors. Took it back to the house and she did have a broke motor. It just would not turn at all. So I learned a valuable lesson. Read the complete manual and check the weather. Glad it was a less expensive drone.

Take care when inserting the battery.

I was helping a student learn how to fly this drone. It went very well in the practice flights in the school gym. The drone was going to be used in a Destination Imagination competition. The day of the competition came and the question all around the building was "Did you see the drone that caught fire?" The student was practicing before hand and when their challenge started he realized he needed to change the battery. He did so by shoving the newly charged battery in the wrong way. The battery is only suppose to go in one way but apparently kids can over come that little problem. I can not really give this drone a proper review and will have to wait till I have the money to purchase another one.
