Do not buy!!! The watch is just ok. Silicone band is cheap and flimsy. Battery life atrocious.
By Chris B on Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2020
I bought the watch on June 15, 2019. Having had prior experience with the Gear Fit Pro I knew the silicone band was of poor quality. I purchased a different band and the watch basically worked well until Sunday Jun 6, 2021. Just shy of 2 years. Firstly the watch suddenly discharged. When placed to charge it was not keeping charge. Then it went into an infinite Rebooting loop. None of the steps suggested by Samsung support worked. NONE. Samsung support was basically hands off because as far as they were concerned the warranty had expired and I would have to pay a minimum of $117.98 to repair. As of June 9, 2021 the watch is basically a brick. as it does not come on. The rebooting screen doesn't appear anymore. I contacted Samsung and they snubbed any request for assistance. If you read their customer forums across all regions you will notice that this problem has been around since 2019 January. Many folks also were denied repairs because WARRANTY issues. Used in the wrong region or in my case warranty expired. I would not recommend purchasing this device at all. This is not value for money when device cant last at least 2 years. ********************************************************************************************************************** The The watch is ok for the most part however it does not detect exercises as efficiently as they claim. The rubber band that comes with it is quite flimsy. It got caught as i was moving something and ripped right off my hand. The bezel has all but faded. update: I have now had to purchase my third band for the watch. The battery life went from being good in the first year to being totally horrible. Battery doesn't last a day. update: the watch is basically dead now. It will not turn on. It isn't yet 2 years.

This is coming from the perspective of someone from South Africa. TL:DR its a great watch but there are some minor issues. Exercise: Its pretty good and it can help keep track of your reps provided you follow the watch's instructions. If you care about your fitness then you won't be disappointed but if Fitness is your daily bread then you might be better off with a professional fitness tracker. Tracking and sensors: These are pretty good, apart from the usual BP monitor and step counter, the watch can count the amount of floors climbed, altitude and it has a barometer. Being a Watch: Surprisingly this is where the watch lacks since you're advised not to use the always-on display (check my battery review). This means you need to lift your wrist which may seem disrespectful when you just want to check the time while talking to an obnoxious colleague. You need to install the Timer and Stopwatch apps from the app store since they don't come on the watch out of the box. Battery: Since the 46mm has the largest battery ever fitted on a smart watch it shows since the watch has an impressive battery life. HOWEVER, you need to leave the default settings alone if you want to get the best battery life. Once you turn on constant HR monitor and always-on display the battery life will jump out of the window. Samsung Pay: Now here is the tricky part. You need to check if your region supports Samsung Pay for the Galaxy Watch specifically. Since the Watch is the International Version you will need to change the CSC to either your country (if Samsung Pay is available) or to the UK. However you can perform this at your own risk because you could brick your device.

I had been meaning to buy a Tag Heuer Connected watch but after much research, I didn't find it that useful in features. I also researched Huawei and Bergen watches. I have been a long time Samsung user and I had been waiting for an upgrade to the Galaxy S3 Frontier. And I am so happy I got two of these watches, the other one for my son. The display is so crisp and the watch faces are amazing. It offers an altimeter as well as a barometer and the dashboard watch faces pack so much information. My only concern is that the watch turns off too quickly when the wrist is raised to view it. A firmware upgrade should fix it that as long as it is held that way, the screen remains lit up. The screen timeout feature doesn't work unless you raise the watch to view it and then either tap the screen or press a button or rotate the bezel. But this is an A-type product and I am very happy to have it.

"Love the product. Battery life for me last about 2 and a half days but then I simply apply it to power saving and that'll give me a third day and then I use the "watch only" function and that'll give me about 2 more days lol. Overall great product, amazing shipping (came 9 days earlier than it said it would), fast charging. You will not regret. Just buy it already!" Is what I was going to say after 1 month of receiving the watch, however after two months it shut off and wouldn't stay on when I did turn it on. This happened for a couple of days. I watch a couple of YouTube videos on what to do and they recommended that I leave it off for 2 days and then try. Did that and it didn't work. So I factory reset the watch (still didn't work) and left it for two more days. I also put it in a bag of rice since I had taken it for a swim a couple weeks back. Then finally after 4 days it was working again. However, the battery still does not hold a charge like it used to. Now I'd get a day instead of 2.5 days. Still worth it? Yeah for me. Do i regret buying it? surprisingly no. Other than that incident it's be a great watch overall. I've seen others with the same watch talk about not being so lucky and getting it to work again.
Great Smart Watch

First off I would like to say there is a watch out there for everyone. I wasn't your typical wear a watch guy, but ended up giving the Galaxy Watch a try. I've had this watch for a few months now and it's been amazing. It's tracks each step, sleep cycle, heart rate, stairs climbed (doesn't work well), distance etc. Then there are the smart features embedded into the watch. I use the gallery every other day while a work to reflect on past & present days with it's built in photo gallery. It sports a music app and comes with about 1.4GB of space out of the box. Overall I'd buy it again. The only issue I have is that the memory is really low and wish it housed more storage space.

The watch itself is beautiful. It has quite a presence on my wrist without looking like a piece of technology. The quick release bands have led to me getting some leather and metal bands to change according to my look which is a big plus. The screen is pretty sharp and visible even in intense sunlight. Battery life is decent. I've only had to charge it every other day but I don't sleep with my watch on so I can easily dock it to charge overnight. Another big plus are the numerous watch faces available. You're bound to find a dozen or more to suit your style.

this is the first smart watch that i have owned but i have used several over the years. This is the best watch/ smart watch for the money that you could buy. after using for almost a month i have no complaints. battery life is more than enough for my situation but i have got 4 1/2 days out of one charge just by turning off the always on display. the bezzle is the best feature that could have been added to a smart watch.
Great Battery Life

I bought for the longer battery capacity, so the thickness is a trade off the the added battery capacity. I mainly use with Arccos Golf App and it is perfect for it. I bought the optional warranty since one doesn't come with the international model. I had zero problems setting it up, the transition from my Gear S2 might have helped. A great upgrade from the older model.
Excellent Hardware, Limiting Software

Compared to the other smartwatches i've owned, this has the best hardware of them all. (Moto 360, ASUS ZenWatch 2) However, the software is so limiting that you can't accomplish simple tasks. If there was a way to slap Wear OS on here, it would be amazing. The gestures and menus are ok, and the dial keeps grease off the screen, but still not as fluid and simple as Wear OS. Lack of google maps means you can't check your watch while driving to see what your next turn will be, and thus get in the correct lane. No google assistant either, which was very handy.
Not a good fitness tracker!

This is a brilliant upgrade over the previous gen. The battery life is superb. It gives me 2 days of heavy use. Unfortunately, the fitness tracking options is a massive let down. The steps are not accurately recorded, and the stair count does not work. If you want this as a smart watch with a speaker, its a no-brainier. Get it. If however, you want fitness tracking, avoid this and go for the active watch. Or fitbit.
