Miele Scout RX2 Home Vision Robot Vacuum

Yes, it’s expensive. But it works well for our use case. Hardwood floors, lots and lots of dog hair. It does a terrific job of navigating the room, picking up almost all of the dog hair. Battery lasts a long time. Oh...and did I mention it’s very quiet, relative to other robot vacuum cleaners? The app definitely started off flaky but Miele is clearly spending money and time here to improve the functionality...it’s a much better experience than it was in September 2018. Initially I had issues pairing the vacuum with the app, but being technically inclined I eventually figured it out. I assume Miele has worked out many of these kinks by now given how much better the app and firmware are now. I’d buy it again. If you’re looking for a great robot vacuum cleaner that’s QUIET, that can handle a lot of pet hair (think multiple high-shedding year-round dogs here), that has great battery life, this is the one to get. It does a fine job navigating around obstacles...but we don’t have an especially complicated floor environment to navigate. If I was making suggestions to Miele - it would be good if there was an open API or HomeKit / etc. integration to better integrate it with smart homes. Miele has a great brand reputation and this vacuum does it proud, albeit at a substantially higher price point than most of it’s competition have. I would recommend this to anyone whose willing to spend more to get a QUIET, high-quality vacuum that just works for the most part.
