Works well, good quality components and cable
By TechPicky on Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2019
I bought this cable to use with the original version of Bose QC35 headphones. I have the cable that came with the headphones that lack the microphone and controls, as well as purchasing the genuine Bose QC25 cable with microphone and controls. This cable is much heavier and thicker than the original QC35 cable and a bit thicker than the Bose QC25 cable. This is not bad though, the cable feels strong and well made. It is still very pliable and flexible and doesn't seem to tangle. The rubber has a good feel. About the only downside is that it does make the case slightly thicker when stored in it. The connectors appear well made as well. Both ends have quality gold plated connectors. The 3.5mm end has a right angle connector, like the Bose QC25 cable. The QC35 cable is straight. Which is better for you depends on your use case. Generally though the right angle works out better. The audio remote controls work well. They work directly with Apple devices with 3.5mm jacks, and with the Apple dongle on newer iPhones. The buttons feel good and appear to be of good quality. It is easy to feel which button you are pushing and feel the click of a button without needing to look at the remote. I've only used the microphone a few times, but it seems to work quite well. This is an area where the QC35s actually need some help. While they claim noise reduction, the microphones for use with Bluetooth are on the earcups and away from the mouth. The result is they pick up quite a bit of extraneous noise. Having the microphone close to the mouth helps a lot. I haven't used this cable for many conference calls yet, but so far the microphone seems to work quite good, and has very good sound quality. The price on Prime day was also very attractive, the reason I bought it when I already had the other cables. I don't have any regrets. One point though is that only the grey cable was on sale on Prime day and I have black QC35s. This to me is pretty minor, but the grey cable would match the silver QC35 headphones better. Amazon has what appears the same cable in both black and grey colors. If the price were the same I would buy the black to better match the headphones. It wasn't worth to me several dollars difference during Prime day to get the black instead of the grey color. I expect that this isn't always the case though, so get the cable that best matches your headphones. I can't speak to the long term durability as I have only had the cable for a few weeks since Prime day. So far so good, and it looks like it is made well and will hold up well. If it fails I will update this review.

Did not work with Xbox One. Loud feedback when plugged in.
By Kerry McLaughlin on Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2019
When headphones were plugged into the controller there was loud feedback. Moving the cord around a little did not help. Also, while the input does "fit" Bose QC25, the rubber area around the input is much smaller than the standard Bose cord which makes it have a lot of play when plugged in (that could be the problem with feedback I had) If this was $10 (I paid $20) I would say give it a shot, but since you can get the actual Bose replacement cord for only $30 with no worries, I would recommend just doing that.
