Real wood with real carpentry and not flat-pack "furniture" construction
By XXTwnz on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2024
This chest is better than you are thinking or hoping it will be. If you've been burned by junk from 3rd party sellers on Amazon that doesn't live up to the reviews, this piece will restore your faith in some manufacturers and maybe even Amazon. This unit literally comes from the Amazon (the river, not the junk store), being made in Brazil. Maybe that's why it isn't falling apart before you even receive it or put it together like products from the "far east". The drawers really are made of solid wood. Yes it is pine but it is very clear pine and you aren't going to get anything but manufactured wood for the price of the unit. It goes together just like things used to using real carpentry skills (easy) and hardware. I had no missing predrilled holes as reported by some. The drawer boxes go together with half rabbit lap joints and simple screws without predrilled holes that could result in loose screws. Some people may see that as a problem, I consider it normal furniture construction, without flat-pack weird hardware. I can see that step being hard for some folks that can't drive a screw into soft pine or keep the drawer parts aligned with a helper or a clamp -- a 90 degree picture frame clamp for the win. This is the best finished piece of real wood furniture I've seen in anything like this price class. I could not finish it better. Don't love the orangish color but it has been applied professionally with care, not what we're all becoming used to. If you need a cabinet that fits under a desk, holds a lot, looks pretty darned good, and isn't junk, you're looking at what may be your best option that isn't $800.

Need to pre-drill Holes, buy better wheels, use wood glue, tons of splinters
By Sariahart on Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2023
I ordered three of these, and all three are really hard to put together. The first one, it took three hours because I realized that without wood glue and needing to pre-drill holes drawers pieces, the wood does split. Many Of the faces of the front are damaged, some of the drawers are hard to open because it is not aligned correctly. It took a total of seven hours to build. All three furniture drawers that I ordered the white paint is not opaque you can definitely see through it you can see the wood and the inside is may be painted ones and some aren’t even painted at all. All three, the delivery was terrible. I asked them to securely put them in a Amazon box to protect the boxes, however, it was delivered with the three drawer sets separately with one tracking number. After building it, it’s impossible to return because I can’t undo it and it just took forever. I was wanting to talk to the seller, but there is no option for me to talk to the seller about all of the defects and damages The worst thing is that when you put on the casters, the wheels, they have these pre-drilled holes for you to put in this plastic mold, but the hole is not large enough so I used a rubber mallet (just as the directions said to do) and gently tried to put it in but eventually, it split the wood . After building the first one, I decided to purchase different wheels where I can screw in the wheels, and not split the wood. Overall if I had known all these complications, I probably would have not purchased it for the cost if it was pre-drilled and completed correctly on the manufacture side then it would’ve made things a lot easier and wouldn’t matter if it takes 7+ hours, but that’s not the issue. I purchased these because it’s mostly all wood, thinking it would be much better quality than the compressed material. I don’t usually like to write negative reviews but I want others to know that this furniture is definitely not easy to put together because you need to pre-drill lots of holes you need to predrill 50 holes for one set, therefore I drilled 150 because I bought 3. and you need wood glue plus the casters are the cheapest quality ever and you need to purchase better wheels unless you want all the bast foundation wood split . I hope this review helps others Before they purchase
