Just like I remember.
By Kendra Curtis on Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2025
Just like I remember from the 80s. Im an older gal now, and was looking for some water shoes to take to the river with my grandkids. I have had several water sandals, from Keene to those weird 5 toe shoes. Haha. I was dreading another purchase of high tech inferior water sandals when I mumbled under my breath, gosh, I wish I had a pair of Tevas. Lo and behold, they are still available! They fit just like I remember, even though I now have flat, fat feet and a bunion. The adjustable velcro straps enabled me to get a comfortable secure fit. So comfy with the rubber soles that give in all the right places. These fun colored ones get so many compliments and all of my gal pals got some for themselves too. We now sit in lawn chairs, in the shallows by the shore and drink adult beverages while the grandkids play in the river. An old favorite on our now old feet :)

Good & Bad

I am giving these Teva Retro Squares only 3 stars or maybe 2. They don't have the same good Support as my others Mid Form Teva's. I love most of my Midform Teva's, but all are not made alike. I have another pair that does not feel as good as others. I have noticed that the solid color soles do not have the support as the tri color base (sole), I have issues with my feet and especially toes, so I wear Teva's Sandals most of time in home. The Cons: for All Teva's - While I have a Med. or Slim foot, the strap near the toes is NOT long enough so you have about 1 or 2 inches of exposed velcro that attaches to anything it touches. I have many things sticking on that Velcro as rugs which can make you fall. When I clean my floor, strings or dust attaches to the velcro. I found a way to cover the exposed velcro that works until I find another better way. I had a roll of double Velcro that was same width of the exposed part . I cut & used the side that I needed to cover the exposed velcro Leaving the "cover" on the cut part on the velcro. (The "Cover" that comes with the roll of new Velcro) Most likely will not match your shoes, but it may blend until you find another way. I am surprised that Teva has not corrected this issue. I have seen many Reviews with the same complaints.
