Simple, Straightforward, Effective
By Jeff Kimble on Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2018
TL;DR Version -- It has five pieces and only takes about 10 min to setup. Works VERY well; a fantastic addition to any golfer's 'home tool set'. Tips below! The Longer Version Setup / Take Down (5/5) When this first came, I doubted its simplicity. Opening the box made it look like there were a million pieces and I'd spend equally as long setting this up as I would using it. However, I'm happy to report that it was a pleasant surprise! This is basically like a set of tent poles so if you can assemble a very simple tent, you'll have no issues. Most of the pieces are cabled together and there are only five total (including the net). My first setup -- which included figuring it out and unpacking -- only took me 12 min from box to complete. Once you have done it a few times, it's easily in the 5 - 7 min zone. Like most things, the instructions aren't the best but here are some tricks I found until you get the hang of it. * The base poles have a slight curve to them. This needs to point up. * The yellow edge of the net is the exterior. The net also has a 'pocket' in the front. Use the pocket + yellow edging to orient the net (pocket toward you, away from the curved pieces). * The net has little loops that hook the end of the poles. I find it easier to hook the top pieces, then finish the bottom. Breakdown is equally as simple and even faster. The set comes with a fantastic case as well that lets you quickly break down and stow the net for next time. USEFULNESS (5/5) Full disclaimer : I am a terrible golfer. Like, really bad. I wanted this net to help me work out my shots so I can work on consistency. It'll come as no surprise that you can't really tell how far or hard you're hitting the ball. However, what really DID surprise me was getting a feel for how the ball was launching. In a perfect world, the ball should leave the club the same every time and therefore hit the same part of the next every time. Similarly, it was fairly easy to tell how much loft I was getting with my irons. While not perfect (and now leaving me wanting for a full-on simulator), I thought this added immense value to the net. It wasn't there just for practicing form; you can still get some feedback around what the ball is generally doing. Driving was the same and this thing didn't falter. The net's plenty wide to catch a stray shot so long as you aren't EXTREMELY off base which definitely adds a level of confidence. Quality / Construction (4/5) Overall, this is a pretty high quality piece for the home user. The net is a somewhat lighter-weight fabric than I'd have liked to have seen and it wasnt that wax-feeling style of a commercial soccer net but -- in all -- good stuff. I wouldn't leave it out for months on end is really my point. The poles fit well and tightly and it had no problem absorbing golf ball after golf ball at full drive. Overall (5/5) In sum, this net is a great quality addition that's easy to setup and take down. I've found that I actually use it more frequently than I thought I would. When you might only have 30 - 60 min, want a break or to golf, but don't have the time, this net's a perfect solution. While I don't have any, this would be super helpful if you were also trying to teach your kids how to golf and would make a brilliant step one (so long as your lawn can survive the divots). Definitely recommend! I received this through the Amazon Vine program. If you found it helpful, please let me know by marking it useful!

Large But Not Heavy Duty
By Mat633 on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2018
This Franklin Sports Golf Net is very large and it provides ample space to swing. The setup instruction is poor but can be figured out with some fumbling. The net is made of a good quality material, but the frames are made of light-duty metal. It claims to be for all weathers, but some parts become rusted after leaving it outdoor for some time. The carrying bag is helpful but taking the net down is not easy. So, it's better used as a permanent fixture in the backyard until it wears out. In general, the net works well for practice because of the large size, but it will be much better if it is made of stronger and sturdier material.
