Airthereal Commercial Ozone Generator (Open Box)

This works to fight tough odors, but I am rating this lower because of one major issue I think people really need to be aware of. I ran this in the basement to remove smoke odor from the stove that back-drafted into the house, and the smoke odor is not there now, but it left a bad smell in the air for many days now, and it's not the Ozone. It's an unpleasant chemical smell I can't quite describe. Tried airing it out, spreading baking soda, etc but it's at least as bad as the smoke smell. Did some research and apparently Ozone in high enough concentrations reacts with various rubbers and fabric and causes them to break down and release VOC gases. The carpet is likely the biggest source of this. This can last for weeks! Not only is that bad for things in the room but it stinks and there is nothing you can do about it. I ran it on the high end of the recommendation for the room size (45 minutes) but nothing crazy. BE CAREFUL. Run it for far less than the recommended time at first. This problem is not mentioned at all in the instructions and it really should be a clear warning - ozone is corrosive and can cause damage and worse odors than it removes if you are not very careful! Hopefully I will prevent someone else from making the same mistake not knowing any better.
