Very heavy and actually black

I wanted black silverware, but most all of it is matte black - which ends up looking mostly dark gray. I ordered multiple sets of silverware, including another shiny set from various companies and hated all of it. This set is the most black I could find and doesn't feel cheap - itself almost too heavy. The dinner fork feels like you're getting a hand workout. But at least it doesn't feel like cheap tin. However, this is a ridiculous price, and it's cheaper than the MSRP price. I ordered one set and found open box new products on ebay to get service for 8....much cheaper.

they don't last

i've had these for just less than 2 years and they're showing signs of wear with the black wearing off at the edges of the fork tines. i haven't noticed wear on other pieces but i don't think it will take much longer that to occur. they looked great when new (though some people thought they were nice plastic when first viewing), but when you pick up a piece you'll know it's not plastic because each has a pleasant heft. after cleaning, they look less great because of water spots but they still look good. bottomline: because they were so expensive i would not recommend them and i would not purchase again.
