Surprisingly easy to assemble and well built

6 month update: chairs are still looking and working as well as the day I assembled them despite a combination of scorching heat and strong storms through the summer. Still very happy with them.After reading some of the reviews about assembly I had my rubber mallet ready and was prepared to do battle. However, if turned out so easy I almost question them needing to say 'assembly required'. Each chair came in three pieces (base, front legs, rear legs) and required only 8 provided hex bolts to be screwed in with the provided hex wrench. The assembled chairs seem sturdy and they look great. Hopefully they'll hold up.My disclaimer is that I have assembled Ikea furniture before, so maybe I just know to expect the worst. I do think it was important to follow the provided instructions and not tighten the bolts fully until the parts were assembled and bolts lightly tightened. Maybe that was it.Regardless, it's only day one (after ordering the day before yesterday), but so far I'm very impressed with the product for the money.

Original review in 2019: Very easy to build. Great quality. Beautiful and modern design. No spongy cushion to absorb water or grow mold. Aluminum, so no parts will rust. And MUCH cheaper than what you find at the local outdoor furniture stores.Updated review 3.5 summers later with light use: These have generally kept their appearance nicely, but I got a rip in the fabric of the upper body section on one of them. No big deal. Nothing lasts forever. But the way the fabric is incorporated into the frame, it's NOT repairable. So I looked for a replacement of the entire upper body assembly, and it's totally unavailable. Amazon told me to contact the company directly for replacement parts. I went to the company's website, and their "contact us" section specifically says "Please be advised 1) Furniture parts are not available for purchase. 2) Photo Proof of purchase will be required upon request. 3) If purchased directly from Amazon, customers are required to contact Amazon for financial assistance and full replacements."Not providing an opportunity to buy replacement parts is unforgivable. They want you to buy entirely new products and treat these as disposable, which is needlessly wasteful. This makes me want to get fabric-free options in the future when my other matching chaises break, since I can't count on manufacturers to make basic replacement parts available for sale. And I'll be keeping the frame of the dead solider for replacement parts for the other ones, since Christopher Knight can't be bothered to make them available to customers.
