High quality, worth my peace of mind

I bought the refurbished Arlo system with four wireless indoor/outdoor cameras about 3 months ago. I was initially nervous to go with a refurbished system because it was still $300, but I cannot tell it is refurbished. It really appears brand new. I think the same system new is $500-600. I'm glad I bought refurbished. At first, I couldn't get one of the batteries to charge, but I switched it into another camera and got it to charge. The batteries took about an hour to charge. To mount the cameras and get the system online ready to record, it only took about an hour. I'm not super tech savvy. I thought it was pretty easy to set up. I think how satisfied you are with the system is directly related to what your purpose is for it. The cameras are motion activated. I live alone without any pets on a very wooded piece of property, and my house has 4 entrances. I work long hours and am frequently away from home for days. I bought the camera system to make sure there is no motion in my home when I am not. There should be NO motion in my home when I'm not home. Putting the cameras outside my house with all the wildlife around would trigger the cameras to record constantly and drain the batteries. Therefore, because there's been no break ins in my house, there's been virtually no recordings because I rarely forget to disarm the system when I return home. I have never had to recharge the batteries in the cameras. The batteries are at about 50% after 3 months. As far as the audio and video recording quality goes, I am satisfied. I have viewed myself walk and talk a handful of times on camera and can clearly hear and see myself. There are different audio and video qualities you can chose from. I have it on the medium quality setting. There is about a 5-10 second delay for the camera to trigger to start recording when it senses motion, which is acceptable to me. As far as troubleshooting goes, I have not had that many issues. I had a power outage that lasted about a day. I could not get the cameras back online, so I removed each of them from the app and reconnected them. I haven't had any other Arlo app or IT issues. I would definitely recommend this security system. The $300 is worth my peace of mind. The base station has an alarm that I have not tried yet. I don't really want to scare the s*** out of myself if I come home and forget to disarm it. I also think there is a way to have the system dial 911 if you want it to, but I haven't tried this. If someone breaks in my house, I will just call my local precinct.

First one wouldn’t sync, works great! Now 39 days later one of the batteries won’t hold a charge
By Just a regular guy on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2019
I don’t know how it works? I downloaded the app... I already have my email registered with Netgear..it tells me to log in and then tells me I already have an account with them. It then tells me I didn’t spell my email right... I call customer service... can’t understand what the hell she is saying other than you need to use another email.. I did use an alternate email... still didn’t work... in broken English again I barely understand I need to use another email.. so I need to create a third email just to get my camera system up and running... are you kidding me... I will give this a go again tomorrow but right now this system is horrible!!! Ok the new replacement system arrived 3 days after I initiated a return. All charged up, connected in seconds and works great so far. No problem syncing, viewing, or using the app. Update one of the four batteries will not hold a charge.. customer support from Arlo/ Netgear is trying to tell me that they need the entire system back for one battery... this system is really pissing me off and they don’t give you any options about one battery. I have them where I want them three of the batteries are fine but yet they want me to take the entire system down for one battery.. Amazon tells me to contact the parent company.. so no help from Amazon either.. I will keep updating as needed good or bad
