Emergency use only
By Noah on Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2024
I got these because I'm currently doing a lot of driving in canyons during the winter. It is sad that this has to be stated but these are not meant to stay on your car all the time. They are meant for emergencies only preferably accompanied with snow tires. They're great but are only good for 2-3 uses because well, they're plastic. But again, this is worth the price. Even if it damages your car a little. The price of repairs and the price of these are well worth it over the price and stress of a totalled car or worse loss of life. Get this!

These are completely unreliable and should not be allowed to be sold!

I read the other reviews after i got back from a skiing weekend where I had to use these. We drove up when there was quite some fresh snow. These chains were fairly easy to put on and attached. But pretty much immediately they broke and fell off. Thankfully they didn't rip a brake hose as they scratched up the wheelhouse and flew all over the place. The rubber/plastic could not hold the force of the straps so they ripped. I bough 12 and more than half of then where broke when I had gotten out of the snowy parking spot i needed to get out of. I had to give up and go home again. Thankfully I was not in an exposed situation. If someone would rely on these when in a difficult situation they could really end up in trouble. The quality of these are so low that they should not be allowed to be sold. Someone could really end up in a dangerous situation.
