Great Value for the Price
By Healthy Eater on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2020
I installed the Pro 2 package with 4 cameras. Installation is quick and easy. Sync a camera and connection to the base unit is automatic. The base unit connection to the router is instant since it is wired/ethernet. I installed all four cameras outside the house, for viewing front and back entrances and off-street windows. I'll probably purchase some of the articulated mounting brackets so I can better adjust the field of vision for three of these (one articulated bracket was included with the kit.) The included magnetic mounts work fine, but are better adapted for interior installations. Video quality is very good, even on "battery optimization" mode. The phone app works well and there are quite a few customizable features, like video quality, battery optimization, scheduling of monitoring and geofencing. I think the package I purchased is a great value for the price.

Immature and Disappointing ---UPDATE FEBRUARY 27----
By Mike on Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2020
I have been using the Arlo Pro 2 system (with 4 cameras) for over two months now. I followed the installation and setup instructions and was able to get the entire system operational in an afternoon. PROS It was delivered on-time, exactly as described, and was relatively easy to install. The picture quality and night vision features are average to very good and the battery life has been excellent. CONS There are numerous shortcomings. 1. The link to the base station is extremely sensitive. I have the base sitting in a window within 30 feet of three of the cameras (including in line-of-site to two of the cameras) and the link quality fluctuates regularly between fair and perfect. There are no other electronic devices within 10 feet of the base station so there shouldn't be any interference to cause this. 2. The cameras experience a significant delay between the time motion is sensed and video begins recording. This can cause activity to be almost completely missed and even totally disregarded. I have a camera facing a quiet residential street that has a reduced speed limit. The camera has an unobstructed view of 400 feet of road front. In many cases the delay in beginning the recording has caused most of an activity to be missed and there have been occurrences where a vehicle has passed by and no recording is made at all. 3. There are times when video doesn't record at all even when someone is walking in front of the camera. The cameras appear to be especially susceptible to this when the motion comes from behind the camera and continues on in front of the camera (for example, when someone walks under a camera from behind and continues to walk away from the camera in front of it). 4. The length of the video is short and seems fixed despite setting the camera to record until motion stops. This happens even if there is continual motion in front of the camera. Video will frequently stop recording even when the motion continues. 5. It takes a significant amount of time for the app to connect with a camera when you want to view activity. For example, when you receive an alert and try to view the camera live there is a lengthy delay before the video begins. All of this points to an immature technology implementation, which considering the premium price tag, is unacceptable. I have a lot of Netgear technology installed and have been very happy with it, but this is far short of their usual high standards. I don't know if other manufacturers have better systems, but I can't recommend this one. UPDATE-------------- Two additional concerns. 1. The geofencing option is virtually useless. No matter what diameter fence you select, it works very poorly. It doesn't return into home mode until you are actually back inside the house and within a few feet of the base station. 2. The back case on one of my cameras cracked. I contacted Netgear/Arlo and provided pictures and I was informed "it wasn't covered under warranty" and "here is the warranty policy if you would like to read it". This is after less than three months of average use. I expected more from Netgear.
