I have had the Nox 800 for years, and decided to purchase another when it was on sale. This a still a great detector that set the standard for separation, and the newer models come at a much higher price for not enough difference. Overall this thing is well worth it for a beginner to an experienced detectorist.

an ear broke off my 240$ coil,

I have had this for several years, spend most of its time setting in storage, anyways I got it out and charged it, wen into the creek to play with it, and I noticed the head was tilting easily, so I went to tighten the thumb screw and the head fell off, Now I am not an idiot, I have had many metal detectors over many decades, so I know how to handle them, I never handled this hard at all, I babied it, but I was quite surprised how easily this broke, Now I either have to find a way to fix it or pay another 250 plus shipping to replace it, It is maybe 4 or 5 years old now but mostly unused, only maybe a few hours on it. does this plastic become brittle that fast, wondering. anyways I dropped a star for that. I do like this one better than my old whites spectrum XLT
