Kinetic Sand -Beach Sand Kingdom Playset

My daughter was gifted a purple set last year at 4 years old and loved it, great texture, super soft, and didn’t leave a residue. So, we purchased more. However, this particular sand was much different. It has very oily feel that leaves a very hard to clean, thick, film on everything, that’s waterproof. Playing with any toys other than the included ones, is an absolute nightmare. (Don’t let your child play with L.O.L. Dolls in there for example. 3 soapy washes later they still feel oily and disgusting.) Also, as expected, the sand when pressed or rolled etc. sticks to you, but unlike the other set, this oily texture doesn’t come off. She’ll have it all over her hands and arms and thus it gets transferred all over the house. I’ve had to put her in the shower after play time to get the residue off. Absolutely not mess free! She still loves this. The majority stays in it’s box, though. I still would suggest kinetic sand brand as a whole, but would not personally recommend this set, made with the natural sand. Edit: I kept the sand because my daughter loves it. She rediscovered it today and.. I think it got worse? You can’t even touch it with out it sticking now, it almost can’t be rolled into a ball or shaped with the tools as it sticks to your hands and the insides of the molds. I was speechless when I discovered my daughter was playing with peppers pig figurines in it. Eek. They had a great beach picnic though! LOL The photos show how her hands covered and trying to wash, the water just beads up as if you are covered in petroleum jelly. :( To be fair, if you lift up the sand and let it fall through your fingers, it does still flow....
