Quality and Affordable Jumper Cable
By Joseph on Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2025
Impressive. Looked nice in the package (clear on front, black on back, zippered), a good storage pouch for the car. The cables were appropriate gauge/thickness, the insulation coating was appropriate, the flexibility and ability to unroll to full length to use as well as reroll to put into pouch. The cables were long enough to reach between cars when batteries were on opposite sides. The jaws clamped well and were strong enough to grab, good springs and teeth. Thank you Energizer for making a good product. Thank you Amazon for quick delivery at a competitive price.

NOT 6 gauge, NOT copper
By Reviewer271828 on Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2025
I bought the 16' 6-gauge cables and returned the cable for the reasons below. I then bought the 16' 4-gauge cables - see the bottom paragraph for that review The wire is copper coated aluminum, not solid copper. Furthermore, the cable is approximately 130 strands of #28 wire (diameter is 0.012"). To be 6 gauge, the strands would have to be #27 gauge. The resistance of one 16 foot cable is 0.0113 ohm. This resistance is between an 8 and 9 gauge copper wire. A small car requires around 100 amps so the voltage drop would be 2.26 volts. A larger car (especially in the winter) would require 200 amps (4.52 volt drop) or more. The clamps well-made, but the jaws are copper-coated steel - not sure how long the copper plating would last. If you have a small car (e.g. 1600 or 2000cc), these cables would be OK, but for a V8 or diesel, you need heavier cable - I suspect the 2 gauge version would be satisfactory. Review of 16' 4-gauge cable: Wire is copper-coated aluminum - resistance is 0.0078 for each wire for a total resistance of 0.0156. Voltage drop for a 200amp draw would be 3.12v. This would be satisfactory for most cars & trucks up to a small V8. Might be OK for a large V8 or diesel - I'd suggest testing or just get a 2-gauge. My rating for this item is now 5-stars.
