All of the Kindle devices are awesome. I started buying Kindles from the very first Kindle that was made and my reading of digital books quickly how I enjoy literature. I have purchased each subsequent Kindle model. At this point I currently have 5 different Kindles in my home that boast my favorite device features and options. In the past I have always found that the Kindle technical support telephone team has always been very informative in finding a solution to my issue. However, for about the last two years, Kindle technical telephone support has really gone down as I feel that the representatives are taught the basic operating aspects but not the core technical aspects of a Kindle. It's really cool now that they can see your Kindle screen do directly look live and also offer the Mayday on select models to see what I'm talking about… but still offer very little help. This very irritating as I feel I know more about these devices having had much experience using Kindles over the many years that I have owned a Kindle and find that my best support option is to research it online... So if you have a Kindle and you have a technical issue I recommend going online to find your answer.

I received my THIRD fire since August 2 (I bought a new one, Amazon replaces with these junk refurbs), The first one died after 1 month. The second one started having wifi issues, then one night I plugged it in and instead of charging, all it did was get incredibly hot. I received my third one yesterday and it will connect to my wifi, but it tells me that there is no internet connection, which was a surprise to me since my computer, phone, mom's 2 tablets and her computer were all having no issues. So apparently I received yet ANOTHER defective model in less than 3 months. Way go to Amazon. Buy this only if you want to have to return it incessantly, or dig through Amazon's amazingly unhelpful "help" section and get information that totally doesn't apply your Kindle, or doesn't work. Complete garbage. They should have replaced my 1 month old model with a new one since it broke so fast, and these refurbs are even worse. I will be sending this one back as well, and hopefully Amazon will eventually send me one that works, and keeps working for more than 4-6 weeks. Personally I think this model is a fraud and everyone should get their money back. This model did not work new, and whoever is refurbishing it apparently doesn't know how to get it right. Please save yourself the headache and stay away from this piece of trash. UPDATE: 11/20/2017 -- My third Kindle has now broken (same issue with the battery getting burn your fingers hot but not charging the unit). It actually wasn't right out of the box and would make me reset my wifi connection every 20-45 minutes but Amazon didn't want to hear about that and blamed me even though every other device in this house has no problem with the wifi. But this time they didn't really even question me about the issue once I told them what is happening. When the battery went bad on the previous units they completely grilled me as if I was deliberately breaking them because they must think I really really want to have to reload all of my books and games every month or so. This time I told them the issue and they put me on hold and said a new one was being sent. So obviously they know there is a problem with the units, but it must be cheaper to send out poorly-made refurbs (keep in mind, my first one was brand new, they've just been replacing it with refurbs). They'll keep doing this until those of us who made the mistake of buying this unit new finally give up or the 1 year warranty runs out (by which time I expect to be on my 11th or 12th model).
