It was so good I bought a second one

You know what a surge protector is already, but what you should know is that this is a really nice one. When I needed a new surge protector, I looked at a few brands from Phillips, Belkin, GE, and APC before I came across this one. I bought it because of Anker's reputation for quality and because of the tech Anker uses for its USB ports. I'm glad I did. It's very wide, so it sits flat without any worry of tipping over. I wanted it for my entertainment center, it powers my television, game consoles, Nvidia Shield, and a Google Home. The ports are spaced well, so you can plug in many things with ease. And the USB ports will charge my PS4 and Nintendo Switch controllers. The plastic body is very solid feeling. I liked the first one so much, I bought a second one for my entertainment center to keep beside my couch. These are neat and tidy and look attractive. I see many complaints about the switch, but the looseness is intentional, and is stated in the product listing. I'm very happy with these and may even buy a third for my office computer.

Many Ports, Lots of Room. Horrible Power Switch
By octothorpe on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2020
If, like me, you've got a lot of crap to plug in, but not a lot of mains power outlets, this will serve you well. First the good: The 12 3-prong outlets in the different positions allow you to plug in all sorts of weirdly shaped wall warts without eating up too many adjacent outlets. The is the reason I got this, and the sheer number of outlets made it a very attractive option. I don't think I know of another manufacturer giving this flexibility. The meh… The USB ports are a bit of a nice addition, but they're 5V, so really only good for charging small things in a reasonable time, or larger battery capacities glacially. I wouldn't plug a modern phone into it if I didn't need to, but I would plug in a wireless mouse/keyboard to charge. Now, the bad… That power switch is the cheapest, dodgiest switch I've ever encountered on a product of a reputable manufacturer. I really don't know what they're thinking. Anker offers a good value, but spend the extra dime, and get a better on/off rocker. The other thing I don't care for, but it's purely personal, and YMMV. I'm not a fan of the angled mains power plugs. I need to physically locate the strip in the opposite direction of the angle, stressing it more than I'd like, and reducing the reach of the strip. The verdict: If you've got a lot of stuff to plug in, and the plugs are all different shapes and sizes, this power strip is a dream.
