Sorel Women's Joan of Arctic Wedge Chelsea Boots

I ordered these half a size larger than my usual size and I’m glad I did - the fit in the toe box is perfect. Very comfortable to walk in, the footbed seems cushioned and makes it feel like you’re walking on pillows! However, the leather around the ankle was very stiff and rubbed my ankle raw as well as pushed against my ankle bones causing terrible pain even with high socks on. I have owned many sorel and ugg boots and have never experienced anything like this before, which I found very odd considering I have fairly skinny ankles. I was set on returning them but then decided to try to stretch them out. I stuffed them as full as I could with socks, heated them up with a hairdryer and waiting 24 hours and when I put them on again they felt much better, but still not 100%.
