I needed a new steel for maintaining my knives. The price on this item left me a bit skeptical as it seemed low. Having received and used the steel now, my experience says the value here is very high as the steel performs very well and seems very well made. This will last me many year to come. It will not take a knife from dead dull to razor sharp. It's for maintaining sharpness by honing - or realigning the edge of the knife. There are many quality sharpeners available. Check them out if that's what you need. Or find a professional knife sharpener and have them bring your knives back to sharpness. Then, use a steel to maintain them. Good luck.
