Campho-Phenique Pain & Itch Relief, 2-Pk

This stuff is amazing for treating mosquito bites. Our youngest boy (now 3 years old) has terrible reactions to mosquito bites where he won't get just a little bump at the bite site, but he will get a large swollen area. This was especially severe when he was younger and had more body fat. If he got a bite on his wrist, his whole hand would swell up to a degree where he could barely move his fingers. If he got bit on the face, half his face would swell and he'd look disfigured for at least a week.Now, when he gets a mosquito bite, we simply apply a small amount of campho to the site. We've found that if we do it soon enough after the bite (within a couple minutes) and continue to treat it for a couple hours, he will have absolutely no reaction (no swelling or itching). He's an extreme case, so of course it works for everybody else that only has a small reaction to mosquito bites. Note that if you can't get it on the bite site within a couple minutes, it's going to be far less effective, but it will still help limit the swelling and the itching. The key is to apply it as soon as possible and then frequently thereafter. Carry it with you if you know you're going to be in a mosquito infested area. We've purchased several bottles that we have stationed around the house so we can grab one little delay.
