It's a good monitor for the office, but I wouldn't do photography on it.

I purchased this Monitor to use in my office, because I wanted a larger screen to do work in multiple windows at the same time. It is connected to a 2017 15 inch MacBook Pro. I use a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter to connect it. It will connect with an HDMI cable, but then it is limited to 30 Hz refresh rate at full resolution. That looks terrible, so I insist you get the proper display port cable. The display itself is fine, but it is of noticeably lower quality than the displays that come in Apple's own computers. The colors and viewing angle are simply not as good. For Excel, Outlook, OmniOutliner, and web browsing, it is perfectly adequate. I would not get this monitor if you wanted to watch movies, edit photographs, or care deeply about a consistent image at any angle. Colors WILL distort on this monitor depending on your viewing angle. Still, the monitor is an excellent value for the size and picture quality. The material quality is fine, but not as good as Apple. I only bring that up because if you are using this with a MacBook Pro like I am, it will feel like a step down. That said, I have not noticed any creaking plastic, Sharp edges, or any other problems with the materials.

Highly Disappointed.

I tried this monitor out past the 30 day refund period. Otherwise I would have sent it back. There was absolutely no documentation in the box the box on how to use any of the advertised features. No video driver disk. Nothing! And that poorly located button on the back to manage on display selections is frustrating to say the least. My question to the seller and Amazon is how can you sell a refurbished monitor for $30 more than a new monitor in the same UE Series? If you had advertised the new $249 model at the time of purchase, there is no way I would have chosen the $279 refurbished one. The picture quality is average and looks nothing near like the advertising information. In fact, the video quality is quite average and reminds me more of Super vga 800x600 resolution than 4K.
