H800 with 2017 Sony tv, Initial Impressions are very good
By Mtbross on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2018
I just received the H800 H.Ear headphones and will update this if needed. I have a 2017 4k Sony Bravia tv and was trying to connect various bluetooth headphones and earbuds without success. When Sony's support told me that if I were to try a Sony brand bt headphone it would work I was skeptical but after buying these it turns out they are right. Set-up is simple and the connection is stable and automatic when I turn on the headphones. The sound quality is significantly better than I expected. Regarding comfort I would give them 7 or 8 out of 10...a bit warm. I haven't been using on or over ear headphones in a few years so need to readjust to that. I did not expect these to isolate to the degree they do. It's almost impossible to hear someone talk to me when the volume is up a bit. On that note, these don't reach ear splitting volume, which is probably a good thing but may put off some who prefer the live music sound levels. I'll put it this way, when turned up rock music to almost max and clap my hands hard I can barely hear it. At max volume I don't hear any distortion whatsoever. It's kind of like there's a sound governor preventing the headphones from getting to the distortion level. I connected them to my phone and downloaded the app and was surprised by the quality of the sound after playing with the settings. While these aren't going to compare with the upper crust studio headphones, they sound good. They may not satisfy those who prefer super heavy bass as it's a balanced sound, but one I prefer. The only thing I wish for would be to be able to adjust the sound settings in the app when watching television. The settings in the app only work when connected to my phone. Which I guess makes sense....or does it?? On the app, it is a little buggy. A few times already it seems to disconnect from the headphones though it doesn't affect using the headphones. Just need to restart it. And after several hours of use the battery indicator shows 100% charged which I would think is impossible so either that's not correct, or these will have some very impressive battery life. For my use which will primarily be watching television and playing video games without disturbing the household, these are perfect and just what I was looking for.

Returned. Expected much more power and bass. Not loud enough. Ears sweat.
