Nest Thermostat E (Open Box)

If you’re looking for an overpriced, poorly executed product that makes your house feel like far less than a home, this is it! This piece of junk costs you a premium and then requires far more adjustment than a manual thermostat… like several time a day adjustments… that makes no sense!?! It consistently works double duty by putting itself into ECO mode when we’re home yet somehow cools the house wastefully and runs up the electric bill when we’re not! There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t have to stop what I’m doing and wonder “why is it so hot in here??” only to find the inside temp at 82 degrees or higher despite setting it at 76 an hour earlier. It also inexplicably adjusts itself 3-4 degrees lower than what I set it to at night which is ridiculous. Another huge nonstarter for me is a periodic message letting me know the thermostat I paid a premium for is “working in partnership with” my Electric Co-Op to conserve energy by setting the temperature in my house to somewhere in the sweltering range despite having an energy efficient AC system that’s less than a year old. I have tried repeatedly to disable this feature and cannot find a way to do it either in the app or the touchscreen. Hey Google, why isn’t my “smart” thermostat working in partnership with ME to make my home liveable?? This is a terrible product and has been replaced with a much cheaper product from another company that stays where it’s set, is easy to schedule through its remote app, and doesn’t work against me by pretending to be “smart”. Save your money, this thing is garbage and the entire division who came up with it at Goofle should be canned!!
