Beyond pleased

Great product. I've been fishing a 5wt orvis encounter and decided to break into steelheading. I bought the 8wt 9'. It is like butter, easily gets 20 yds with a basic overhead cast, gives great feed back through the entire cast and is highly accurate. This rod easily will match the comfort of higher end rods like sage or Loomis. Looks fantastic however was slightly heavier than some other 8wts I've tried. The id reel is silk, its drag is amazing for its price range and feels insanely durable and we'll made. Overall this is an amazing setup for under 300 and will not disappoint. Great buy.

Pole snapped in half first fish on.
By AF on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2024
Purchased 8wt Redington vice pole combo a couple weeks ago to take to Alaska for fishing trip. Last year we had 7wt Moonshine poles and decided be nice to have a little heavier weight since this year's Sockeye run were producing some really big boys. First day, and first fish on, the pole snapped in half. I have bought Reddington products for years and have noticed last few years quality seems to not be the same as it use to be. Was so disappointed. My sons 7wt Moonshine pole handled every single Salmon with no issues the whole trip. I got back and emailed Reddington customer support thinking they will make this right. Auto response says they will respond back within 24-48 hours. It's been well past that mark and still nothing. So apparently it's not just the quality of product that has declined its also the customer service. Super disappointed, not only did I lose a day of fishing, but then for them to not stand by thier product.
