Amazing product, even better customer support!!!
By Joshua Cook on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2022
Ok, I could probably write an extensive nearly novel-length review of this outstanding gaming keyboard and the set of circumstances that led from my purchase of the Das X50Q Mechanical RGB wired gaming keyboard to the rapid series of events taking me from arrival of said keyboard, unboxing and initial assessment of it's quality and features that took a sudden and unfortunate sharp turn of events that began with an accidental tripping and violent ripping of the keyboard's USB cable connector piece directly from my gaming PC's USB 3.0 port situated on the front end topside panel and absolutely wrecked the connection end of my brand new keyboard (and fortunately that was the only damage as I expected to see significant damage to my PC port sustained when the keyboard connection piece was violently yanked at an odd angle from the closest to the couch side USB ports available with 3.0 hardware, alas God looks after the interests of drunks and fools and my PC was tip top)... As the incident was my own doing and definitely beyond the scope of any manufacturer warranty and optional extended warranty coverage offered (and of course, declined at the time) for purchase by whomever it is that provides Amazon customers those additional warranty protection policy up-sells, Assurance, I wanna say??? It doesn't matter they wouldn't have covered this even if I had purchased and had filed a claim for repairs or replacement of my Das X50Q given the nature of the damage and the limited warranty terms listed as being covered by them. Either way I decided I'd contact Das and determine if they had any service sites to possibly have my keyboard repaired by a qualified technician or authorized vendor I could pay to get the necessary work and hardware completed, or simply a source for the recommended hardware components that the manufacturer themselves could refer me to in order that I may promptly rectify the damages my careless placement of their well-built product had been 100% responsible for causing to occur. Never at any point had I considered any other conclusion not involving me paying for shipping and service parts/labor and likely return shipping costs exceeding the original $129.99 price tag I'd been so stoked to acquire a mechanical keyboard with so many features just a few weeks earlier. But I would have the keyboard and that was better than eating the cost and tossing the otherwise pristine hardware I'd just begun to explore and enjoyed immensely as I did and I was willing to as I had long been curious about this company and their highly recommended product line. But definitely was a downer that I feared would stain the entire experience with a negative overall vibe once I finally managed to get it fixed and back to me to resume using, probably purchasing an additional cheap wireless with barebones build and less durable materials at the under $50 price point to see me through the lengthy process I'd be stuck waiting for and hoping would result in a repair quality nigh indistinguishable from the factory brand new product I'd wrecked with one stupidly misplaced foot and yeah...I wasn't feeling that new toy day after Christmas getting to know you vibe anymore and I knew at best I'd be a satisfied but not enthused Das Keyboard customer, through no fault of the Das product, engineers, sales or support department in any way whatsoever. Nevertheless I was left to resolve this unfortunate situation as quickly as possible and reclaim my prize whatever the cost so I sent an inquiry to Das through Amazon and waited. Long story significantly shortened for your convenience and attention span needs. The inquiry was quickly rerouted to the correct department and individual representative who promptly responded with friendly, genuinely interested in resolution of my situation messages that would leave me as the one lagging in my response times and apologizing for late or delayed responses that I could clearly tell indicated attentive, informed and interested personnel of a higher standard of professionalism and desire to resolve the issue with a satisfied customer if at all possible. I had to pay for shipping services to their site in Austin, TX and that was absolutely fine as I would be told within 24 hours of my keyboard arriving at their offices an order for a new replacement keyboard was authorized and due to ship by the end of that day, my new keyboard due to arrive by the end of the business day Friday, one week from the day they received and 5 days from being able to review and confirm the claim and order a replacement be sent. That's ABSOLUTELY above and beyond the most conscientious of customer satisfaction focused brands I've ever experienced, particularly a tech manufacturer in the PC gaming related sector as it stands halfway through 2022. Summer, you and everyone who worked with me over the past week and change in resolving this quickly and with the unexpected results you provided despite having plenty of legit reasoning that would have supported rejection of warranty claim entirely and the speed and genuine feeling that you were happy to help a customer have a positive experience despite a situation that by nature meant something had gone off the rails in a negative direction...I can't thank you and your colleagues enough for the way you handled everything so fast and patiently. I'll recommend your product for support quality alone as that's an increasingly rare occurrence amongst an expanding number of clones and copies fighting for dominance and at an increasingly expensive buy-in for products with all the necessary features and well implemented extras with quality component materials, build quality and an assumption that a minimum standard of support being included in software patches/updates, assistance with issues encountered while connecting or operating a product or the least likely but most concerning possible scenario requiring replacement or repair work for a variety of possible reasons from quality issues related to assembly, flawed design, component quality or damages that occur at any of a number of potential custodial points in the chain of custody a product passes from the initial manufacturer site to shipping centers, wholesalers, retailers, various storefronts, warehouses and specialty shops where they are to remain until sold and shipped off to the place they will hopefully be used and enjoyed by a satisfied customer for many years to come. It took me longer to review and read this submission than it did for the fine folks at Das Keyboards to review and resolve my support claim (surprisingly not a straight up denial of my request, so 😘🤌🏻💋). Much love to everyone at Das and anyone on the fence about ordering from them I say this: WHO SITS ON A FENCE? DON'T BE SO WEIRD. PEOPLE DON'T WANT WEIRDOS AROUND THEIR KIDS OR PETS. OH YEAH. ALSO IF YOU WANT EXTREMELY GOOD BUILD MATERIALS, HIGH QUALITY ENGINEERING, TONS OF GREAT GAMING FEATURES, SOLID OVERALL OFFERING AND TOPPED OFF WITH AN EXCEPTIONAL SUPPORT EXPERIENCE SHOULD YOU REQUIRE ANYTHING BEYOND THE ORIGINAL ORDER AND SHIPPING OF A DAS KEYBOARD - BE THAT SOFTWARE SET-UP, FUNCTIONALITY ASSISTANCE OR WARRANTY RELATED QUESTIONS - THIS IS MY HEARTFELT RECOMMENDATION FOR A TOP TIER GAMING KEYBOARD THAT CHECKS ALL THE MOST IMPORTANT BOXES AND MOST OF THE OPTIONAL ONES AS WELL. LOVE MY DAS AND LOVE THE PEOPLE AT DAS!!!

Software is awful and useless. Keyboard is otherwise ok.
By A. Wasserman on Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2022
I really like Das keyboards, I just wish I hadn't bought this fancy Q-software powered one. The keyboard itself is solid and nice to type on. The Q software is horrible though. As others have said, it requires persistent services running on your computer. The applets are pretty useless too. They keycaps are clear/invisible when lighting is off, so something that changes color, eg. CPU on the keyboard means when utilization is low you can't see the keycaps. The colors also seldom stick across reboots. Finally, the software just won't connect on my Mac, but will on Windows. A minor annoyance, I've gotten used to just using the default RGB settings and ignoring everything else. Tried filing a ticket on their website for support, but the first time after typing everything, uploading receipts, etc it just reset and wanted a captcha. It hadn't asked for one earlier, so sucks for me. Great. Retyped it all in with the capture done up front this time, as the captcha bit had appeared. Half-way through retyping the captcha timed out and wouldn't let me re-do it. Sucks to be me. Then I thought I'd log in, and they support Google for federation. Tried that it is got stuck in a failed account loop after successfully logging in with Google. After three goes I gave up. I really wish I'd just bought a regular Das keyboard.
